Twisted Sugar — Restaurant in Taylorsville

Soooooooooo disappointed in this location. I have been a long time Twisted Sugar fan, I even had their cookies at my wedding instead of cake, but I used to always go to the location in Centerville. I got so excited when one opened closer to my house but they might as well not have opened it at all. The staff is VERY immature and it’s apparent that they do not take service seriously. The first time I visited this location the employees had a bunch of their friends in there sitting in the main area being very loud and we had to wait for their conversation to end to be acknowledged. Even after we were acknowledged the employee was not friendly or nice to work with. I left feeling very disappointed and not really wanting to ever go back to this location ever again. Then tonight I decided to go and give it another chance. I walked in and placed my order for a drink called the pink cupcake, then I ordered the cookie of the month which is peppermint fudge and a ginger bread cookie. The kid taking my order looks at me and awkwardly says, “I can give you a gingerbread cookie but it won’t have any frosting.” I didn’t understand so I asked why. He said he wasn’t allowed to make frosting right now. I simply asked what kind of frosting was on it and he said, “I don’t know, some kind of vanilla with cinnamon.” So I asked when they would have more and he said he didn’t know. So I recommended that maybe they take the cookie off the display to which he just shrugged his shoulders. Then another kid peaks around the wall and asks me if I just want Sprite with cupcake syrup. And I just looked at him. He then proceeds to ask me again so I had to read to him from the menu that the pink cupcake has strawberry syrup, cupcake, vanilla and cream. He responded, “oh, okay!” And then disappeared. I looked at the kid taking my order and asked him if I even wanted my drink now. He looks at the other kid and asks, “you good?” To which I assume he received a yes. So I paid for my drink and the peppermint fudge cookie and stepped aside to wait. I’m sure the kid who took my order got some kind of a kick out of our conversation because as he’s getting my cookie all the other kids from the back start looking up at me. Then I get my drink and sure enough it wasn’t made correct at all. This is a drink I’ve order many times from the Centerville location so I know exactly what it should taste and look like and this wasn’t it at all. But I decided to let it go because there was no way given the competence of the staff that I will ever get the drink I actually want. Then my cookie is brought out to me and I leave. Well, that cookie went straight into the trash as soon as I got home. I took one bite and it was cold and bland with a very raw texture and tasted like toothpaste more than anything else. What a disappointing experience for someone who used to be such a big fan!! I hope you can get your act together with your Taylorsville location. You clearly have not hired the right people and it might be a good idea to get an adult in there to...

Had to wait 20 minutes for the drinks because the employees were messing around. After 20 minutes I asked if they had made our drinks. The female employee working there tonight gave me attitude and flipped me off when they gave us the drinks. The drinks were watery and the drinks tasted horrible. Worst drinks I’ve ever drank at any location. We go to twisted sugar all the time but we don’t normally go to this location. Watery and gross and not made properly. The drinks tasted so bad we threw them all away. I ordered 5 twisters so it was over $20. Did I mention all my children were in the car when she flipped me off? We love Twisted Sugar and go to the Herriman location all the time. We’ll never go to this location again, we only went to this location because we were on the way home from the U hospital visiting my brother. Real nice way to end our day. I am so incredibly angry with these employees. They either made our drinks wrong on purpose or had no idea how to make them and that’s why they tasted so bad. We know how they’re supposed to taste. We get them all the time. Worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant location. Absolutely ridiculously horrible customer service...

This place deserves a little more love. It looks like they're kind of a new place, or haven't been there very long. I recognize it's a larger chain so maybe this location is a newer franchise or something. They have a pretty good selection of amazing gourmet cookies, and drinks, and some other desserts. The last time I visited, the two girls working were very pleasant, polite, professional and efficient. I got a box with a custom mix of different cookies, and we had a little taste test with my family. Everyone in my family had a favorite number one choice cookie. My favorite was the signature twisted sugar cream cookie with lime on it. my daughter's favorite was the raspberry cheesecake, my wife's favorite was the are you a chocolate. She wanted to get the peppermint chocolate but sadly was a seasonal thing. And my son loved the traditional chocolate chip. Next time I go I'll have to try some of the drinks. So give yourself a treat, and go check...
