Club 80's Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Temescal Valley

This club! What do you want to know??? I’m there every weekend! Does that tell you anything?!

This place is a total blast! You need to get tx if there is a good cover band, otherwise expect a long wait in line (over an hour). If they are selling tx, then that band is super good. But! Doesn’t mean that other bands are not good either. I have seen Berlin, Gene loves Jezebel, Bow Wow Wow, and Metalachi. Berlin and Metalachi it was packed. I have seen cover bands for Depeche Mode, The Cure, David Bowie, and The Smiths. All brought in very good crowds except David Bowie. Bands start anywhere from 10:30-11. There are no coat checks, which I wish there were, so you need to decide if you want to carry one inside, but you can always go out to put it in your car and come back in.

I’m not much of a drinker so I can’t review drinks. But what I can say is that this place has the best bartenders, not only in friendliness but also in appearance. The bouncers are also very nice and approachable. They can be very personable so I have a favorite bartender and security guard, and it’s so nice to go to a place when u look forward in seeing them there. It makes the place feel more warm.

This place has commercial 80s so you won’t be hearing underground 80s. So you will hear anything from The Cure, to Madonna, to Lisa Lisa, to New Edition. And they even sneak in disco, salsa, and cumbia, I guess depending on the DJ. It’s just all around kick ass music. I tried other places like Hully Gully but I didn’t like the crowd or bartenders. And the one in Montclair is alright. The music was good but the venue wasn’t very nice. This place in Corona, since it’s new, it looks very clean, very cool 80s decor, and great layout. The girls bathroom has no mirror ( asked and was told it was to avoid long lines), so take ur compact mirror. Have no idea about the guys bathroom. It has two huge video screens so u can watch the video as the song plays.

The cover charge on Fri and Sat on a regular night is $10, but $20 if the cover band is super popular or the real band is there. I have never eaten there so can’t review the food. I heard you can reserve tables but since I don’t sit for a single minute I have never reserved anything.

The age group is mostly older but I have seen and met people as young as 21. I just LOVE to see younger generations enjoying the best decade ever. And they do! They get down to those 80s! The night I saw the most youngsters was when Metalachi was there. Funny to see so many youngsters loving on classic rock. The crowd in this place is the best I’ve seen from all the 80s clubs I’ve been to other than close to the beach. Depending on what band is playing also can depend on the crowd. For example, Berlin brought in a lot of white folk. I read on another review that there is no ego at this club, and I loved that comment because it’s very true. Bartenders and 99% of the security have no ego. And the crowd also! Everyone is so friendly and I have been up and down that dance floor making friends. People engage you and interact with you like they’ve known u forever. And even though you can say it’s the alcohol, BUT, I have been to other types of clubs and the crowd is not that friendly and they are drinking too. Even the youngsters at this club are super friendly and mingle very easily with the older crowd. It’s just too cute to watch! There is no dress code so feel free to wear your tennis shoes or 80s gear.

Anyway, what else can I tell you? The parking is good and the area surrounding it is a little quiet but better than where other 80s clubs are located. So in closing, this place is vibrant, super fun, friendly, and great atmosphere! Most likely if you were there you saw me :-). Hope you said hi! Love, Love, Love this...

Mixed, high highs and low lows… Pros: Amazing 80’s vibe, décor, great DJ mixes and videos, great tribute performances. The layout is perfect for dance floor and stage views. We paid for a VIP section reservation, which is definitely ideal. Drinks, snacks and food are all good. Cons: Been there twice so far, and the bathrooms are gross with a funny smell and no mirrors, but also the staff is not very friendly. Maybe they are overworked or understaffed, I don’t know, but the bartenders have no personality and don’t even smile or anything, and the VIP waitresses take too long between drink orders. They need more than just one girl for the entire VIP area. They want you to order from them but its faster just to go to the bar and order yourself, does not feel very “VIP” when everyone else can just get their stuff faster themselves.

Two really bad things happened on our recent visit to Club 80’s to see the Pat Benatar tribute on 4/12/24 (FYI “We Belong” is an excellent tribute band and this review does not reflect on them.)

First, they never announced that the restrooms close when the DJ plays the last song. We wanted to hit the restroom just before leaving on our long drive home. We were refused restroom access because they apparently have a rule that when the last song ends and lights go on, that’s it. We can understand having rules, but how about they let people know that in advance with an announcement or post the rule somewhere? We had no idea until we were refused access at the restroom door! It’s impossible to find an open public restroom on the way home at 2am!

Secondly, the waitress takes your credit card and ID for your tab, but then she mixed up my friends’ credit card with another customer when she returned them later! It’s pitch black in there so both ladies put their cards away and didn’t catch it til the next day. These were two strangers at totally different tables! My friend spent the rest of her weekend cancelling her credit card and trying to “facebook stalk” the person whose card she was given. Amazingly, she was able to contact the other lady via facebook and they arranged to meet and switch cards back, but that was sheer luck that they lived close enough and the other person was nice about it too, but she had the same complaints about the waitress. My friend tried to contact Club 80’s to report the mixup but they don’t answer the phone and the voicemail is always full. My friend and this other lady don’t even know whose cards were charged which drinks and if they paid their own bill or what. Kinda feels like the club can’t be trusted with your tab. Hello, of course we’re drinking, we expect the staff to keep track of the tabs correctly for us!

So yes, the club is super fun for entertainment but the customer service is definitely lacking. No other place like it so of course I’ll be back, but gonna be ready and prepared for these problems next time. Hopefully they...

Let's be honest, CLUB '80S is poppin. This is my go-to for a fun time. They are very friendly and security is highly present. I believe I saw him walk a couple to their car. They got their flashlights out and they are making sure that all is good and safe. Great job guys.

I have only been there on a Friday or Saturday night therefore I cannot speak for the weekdays.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐If you like to shake your tail this is the place. DJ's popping some great '80s videomixes and the dance floor is alive. Much, much later the live band comes on. I love the vibe and Deco. I give it four stars as is but you'll see by star count they have some things to work on. We have learned how to get around the "kinks".

⭐⭐⭐⭐Sound system here is good. Great for cover bands. They are the main reason I go. The website suggests you arrive early if you want a table. If you are going to see a live band, they don't take stage until about 11p.m. so be sure to get there early unless you have a table reserved in the VIP section. Which I would highly recommend.*

⭐⭐⭐⭐The VIP section is great for live bands. The view is awesome and you feed off the dance floor below. But this is the only feeding you will be doing.

⭐ Every time we've been here we have paid for the VIP table. The service in the VIP area is seriously lacking. Over a 4-hour period our server stopped by our table two or three times.

⭐⭐Which means you will be going to the bar. Drinks are not very consistent. As the bar on the right and the bar on the left make the same drink two different ways. But as long as they fill your glass all the way to the top you should be good.

⭐I've got a bladder like a rock so I have not yet visited the men's restroom but there is a smell problem in the ladies room on a regular basis. Management might want to get that fixed ASAP. We went with a group of ladies and they have been put off by such.

All in all, go have a good time. I'm sure management will work out the kinks ASAP. Oh and don't try and call them unless your eardrum wants to get sent back to the 1990s*

*Management: If we pay for the table we should be able to arrive whenever we want. You already have our money. We like showing up fashionably late-late. Your tables are highly worth it but getting there at opening is hard. You know you don't answer your phone so we can call you and tell you we are running late. But thanks for a good time. 👍👍
