Update- We went back today for lunch and it was awesome! The place was much cooler inside and the AC will be fixed today when parts arrive. They are working so hard to keep it cool and had portable AC units and fans everywhere. The food was great!
Exceptional lunch! Today we tried Jay Bobs for lunch for the first time and we were both so pleased. We asked the server for her recommendations and she did a fabulous job! We both job the Pork sandwich with French fries and it was delicious. This is a wonderful place to eat and we are very happy that we found it! Great news- the AC should be fixed today but it was nice and cool inside with the portable AC units and the fans. They are working so hard to make it cool and today it was!
Awesome food & service. Hot inside until they get the AC fixed properly. Even though it was hot it was a great experience and we will be back!
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place! The food and the service are top notch!
I live right down the road, but have never tried it out until this Saturday. My husband and I bought several different groupons for Jay Bobs and wanted a sandwich for lunch on Saturday. We walked in and had the nicest server Michael. He kindly told us the groupon we bought for the sandwich was only valid Monday-Friday and he tried so hard to make it work out for us. We were offered several different options but it was more than we wanted at the time. In the end, since we just wanted a sandwich we left, but the way it was handled so wonderful that we were not mad at all and decided we really wanted to try out it again.
The same Saturday night, we returned to use the groupon we bought for Friday or Saturday night dinner. Turns out we had Michaels mother and she was also absolutely fabulous. Her recommendations were spot on!
WE loved the Catfish and my husband said it was the best meatloaf ever.
The sweet tea was perfect and we can't wait to come back.
The place is currently hot inside until they get the AC back up and running after the storm. They are working on it and doing there best but it's hot inside currently.
BUT the food is so good, it's still worth it. Can't wait...
Read moreEditing my review from today's visit. 54 dollars for 2 adults to eat reheated catering food that I have to serve myself, get my own drinks, seat myself and my most of my visit today was spent fighting off flies. 22 dollars for an adult plus another 2 for a drink. I could eat for less at most places in Nashville and they would at least put up a fly strip. I'm leaving my praise below to show how it went from decent to bad but I will be avoiding a place like this that prices their warmed up buffet food at such a level and still requires me to swat the flies away from my extremely dry Mac and .... giant shells?
The food is pretty decent here, we have only gone for breakfast more recently. I think 9 dollars for a breakfast buffet thats all you can eat is very fair. My only issue is they ask if you want to TIP at the counter. I walk in, they hand me silverware and I sit myself, i get up and get my own drinks and my own food and never see a server which is absolutely fine. I like it that way anyway. So there is nobody to TIP. But its to the point where tipping is pushed on people even when its not being pushed on them. If i tip who would it be going to and for what reason? I would suggest either going to full service or eliminating the tip prompt as it creates a social anxiety factor, especially considering its not a button you have to press or a paper you have to sign its legit them asking "Do you want to leave a tip" and if you say yes "how much"
Owner responded below saying I have an agenda lol. Classy. Accept the criticism and look for ways to improve. This will be the last update, and my last visit. I look forward to reading about future improvements but am not...
Read moreBreakfast is my favorite meal—and I’ve had it in a lot of different places — but this was, hands down, the worst experience ever.
Let’s start with the grits: completely uncooked, not undercooked but not cooked at all just lumpy balls of grits mixed with water, absolutely inedible. We both took one bite and pushed the bowl aside. The bacon? Burnt to a crisp. The ham? So tough it felt more like jerky than breakfast meat. The waffle batter was discolored, meaning it was likely stored overnight, and it tasted just as bad as it looked. The donuts were rock-hard. The potatoes looked so unappetizing I didn’t even attempt to try them. The biscuits were straight from a refrigerated can—definitely not homemade. Even the gravy, the only somewhat redeeming item was clearly commercial from a can or package mix.
The staff was friendly but will end up discarding napkins with spit-out food wadded up within them. I know that’s a gross description, but so was the food. Gross and shockingly bad—no care, no quality.
This restaurant and farm has unlimited potential ~ a pure goldmine of creative possibility and yet it barely scratches the surface.
If you’re looking for a real breakfast, keep driving. This place misses the mark in every...
