This was our first visit here; my wife ordered the eggplant parmigiana and I opted for the chicken parmigiana. Both meals came with spaghetti, a house salad which was mostly iceberg lettuce and a garlic knot. Portion sizes were a little underwhelming but adequate for the price.
The interior of the restaurant is fine, but nothing fancy. An adequate number of tables and booths are in the front of the restaurant. A back room had some entertainment going on. Apparently you can make reservations and pay a $5 cover charge if you want to be entertained.
The main entree was good, but the sauce was bland and needed salt. Of course we sprinkled a healthy dose of Parmesan cheese on our pasta. Halfway through our meal, a huge problem was noticed...
THERE WAS A LOT OF MOLD IN THE PARMESAN SHAKER. I'm uploading a picture of what we found. This was like the old story of "What's worse than finding a worm in your apple? Half a worm!" Unfortunately we had consumed half our meal along with whatever mold had made it out of the shaker.
Our server was very sweet, apologized and said that she would talk to management. Our bill came and I paid (including a credit card surcharge, sigh). Our server did offer to buy us a desert, but we declined.
Now, the shocking part... The owner/manager came by as we were getting ready to leave and asked how the meal was. My wife let her know about the moldy Parmesan cheese. The manager's response was along the lines of "Noted. She told me about it and I instructed her to dump it out and clean the container well. THIS ONLY HAPPENS RARELY, ONLY EVERY SIX MONTHS OR SO." No apology, no "what can I do to make it right?", and an uncaring attitude.
I really like to support small business and local establishments. Unfortunately, Little Italy is permanently off...
Read moreI tried the "Tour of Italy" that offered a small portion of several dishes. The eggplant parmesan came as just a breaded piece of eggplant with no sauce or noodles, and if it were to have these things it would have been pretty good. The lasagna was the best part of the dish, it was loaded with flavor. Chicken parmesan was melded into the lasagna and consisted of a small piece of overcooked chicken and mostly flavorless sauce. The spaghetti and singular meatball was underwhelming. I have unfortunately had better microwave Alfredo dinners than what was served at little Italy. That was a quick rundown of my plate that I paired with water so I could taste everything individually. My family had a similar experience. The garlic knots served when arrived were extraordinarily dry and my wife never received a refill on her drink for a little over an hour we dined. The staff was very busy with a big party of people so it's hard to say if they are always rude or if they were just busy. I will say that my family of six ate for a little over $100 which is...
Read moreMy first time visiting this restaurant. I ordered the chicken Parm with a side of pasta. I was seated with a large group of friends, who all received their food 10-15 minutes before my plate arrived. My food wasn't even warm, it had been sitting in the back the whole time. The quality of the Chicken was Walmart quality, not enough cheese or sauce. The portions were extremely small, and didn't have much flavor. I grew up in N.Y. and Cleveland, Ohio "Little Italy" neighborhoods. So I tend to be critical of "So Called" I-Talian restaurants located in the South. But, the quality of their food was horrible. I ordered the Cannolli which was a huge mistake !!! The absolute WORST Cannolli I've ever eaten !!! The filling was very soft and runny, almost watery. And they don't know how to fill it. The entire center was empty with no Ricotta filling. Only each end had filling. Almost $8.00 with tax !!! Sorry, I will never return return to this...
