(Visited in August 2018) - I have eaten here many times since the restaurant opened, and in my opinion, the food has always been very good and extremely authentic. The curry dishes taste amazing, though my favorite, Massaman Curry, always has a thin sauce instead of a little substance to it. I'm sure this is merely how Chef Gina prefers to make it, and regardless of the consistency, it's the best Massaman Curry I've ever eaten. I've eaten Thai food in many restaurants and also in Thailand, and the food here is unbelievably perfect Thai cuisine.
The ambiance is small and crowded, but this is simply the nature of the beast and the lessee-owner isn't allowed to alter it. The actual owner of this building has never allowed any lessee-owner to change the interior, so it is what it is and those of us who know the story of the building owner simply accept it.
The only menu item I've tried and not liked is the Fried Rice. I absolutely love fried rice and it's something I would get here for takeout on a regular basis if it tasted like Chinese Fried Rice...but it doesn't. I realize this is only my opinion, but it's been shared by many of my friends...that the Fried Rice is nothing at all like what you expect. It has a slightly "different" taste and perhaps it's simply because it's not the Chinese style fried rice most folks are familiar with.
Overall, Thai Bistro is an absolutely great place to dine, and we will continue to patronize it. We are extremely fortunate to have such a great Thai restaurant here in Tellico Village. I wish this restaurant much...
Read moreOk folks here the skinny. Without driving to Knoxville your choices in Loudon county are slim (same 'ol corporate trash). This place knows there is no other Thai within a reasonable distance, there is, but, they suck even harder, so there's no need for them to try. I understand times are rough and no one wants to work in the restaurant industry, but at least try. Wife's pad thai was mediocre at best, they got the heat level right at least. I ordered the General Tso's chicken ( I know it's Thai joint but..). Three of the smallest broccoli florets, 8 fancy carrot slices, 10 Banquet white meat chicken nuggets in a spicy duck sauce. An attempt was made. I asked for a level 4, got that, so yay! $15.95 for each dish, this is Tellico Village, so I guess that's why? The truly sad part is Innovasian in your grocery's freezer section is light years better. I like good food and we've eaten here before, but they appear to be on a down hill slide. As a side note wife told me neither the entry door or stall door in the women's room locks. It also faces the dining room, so be careful ladies. Can not in good conscience recommend Thai Bistro @ Tellico Village. Any one that rate this place at 5 stars is either a paid shill, or doesn't know any better. Little Bangkok in Turkey Creek is...
Read moreI have heard plenty of good things about this place and decided I needed to try it for myself. As all of you who read these know, I say it like it is. Thai Bistro is an amazing addition to Tellico Village, which is lacking good restaurants. Service was out of this world. The gentleman was professional and willing to answer any questions you may have. The food was delicious!!! Everything tasted fresh and made by a true pro. We ordered General Tso Chicken, Tornado Shrimp (both medium heat), Sesame Chicken ( no heat), Thai Dumplings, and for dessert, we had volcano cake and banana delight. Everything tastes great, and the desserts were the right ending touch. Medium heat has zing but isn't too hot. The Dumplings we had were fried, and what a great choice. I recommend everyone eat here so we can keep this refreshing place open. Nothing I tasted had an out of the box flavor. It tasted like it was fresh homemade high quality. I...
