Wow. Doesn't even deserve one star. Horrible. If you are impressed by an old house that has been converted to a cutesy restaurant, with no concern for food quality or exceptional service, maybe this is the place for you. Myself, i expect a little more than some nifty architecture and a poor attempt at fine dining.Over 40 minutes to get a couple of sandwiches with chips! When we inquired about our food, we were told that the kitchen only does one table at a time?!?! Anyone who has ever spent a any amount of time in food service knows that is NOT how you run a kitchen. The whole place seemed very disorganized, with no apparent systems for anything in place. When we finally did get our food , my Philly was served on bread hard enough to crack teeth. My mother got a panini, that was not a panini at all. Not even close! It was like a couple of finger sandwiches with barely one thin slice of deli turkey between them.. I found a long blond hair stuck to The side if my tea glass, and when I showed The server, she said "Well, it's not mine, my hair is red." No apology, no concern at all. The place reeks of maybe someone who has never run a restaurant before decided to get into the business, had not a clue what they were doing, and are flying by the seat iof their pants. Horrible. People of Crossville, why oh why would you ever eat at this place when you have really good eateries such as Beef & Barrel, or Vegas steak house, to choose from? Even Waffle House has better food and service!!This was our first visit here, and will...
Read moreWe had a group of 16 attend our Christmas lunch here. The food was good (although I wish they had other salad dressing options rather than their house oil and vinegar). I have eaten here many times and the food is consistent. However this time one of the ladies in our group made and packaged cookies in a sealed gift bag for everyone. She had them sitting by all our dinner plates. When the male waiter saw the gift bags, he asked if they had food. Upon finding out he loudly announced everyone had to remove their sealed cookie bags from the table as "bringing in outside food into the restaurant is a violation of health codes". I felt like we had been chastised like kindergarteners and the waiter certainly could have handled this different. I have been to other local restaurants to celebrate birthdays and brought our own cake (or store bought cake) and the restaurants have always been accommodating and offered to bring us plates and forks.
We all ordered dessert after lunch, some had wine with their entrees and we spent quite a bit of money on what was a lovely lunch. However, the attitude of the waiter was very disappointing and uncalled for.

Read moreWhenever we travel somewhere, we always hope to find a hidden gem of a place like this. We came to Crossville for a wedding and I spotted this little spot. We got lucky, they take reservations but they have a few tables for those, like us, that wander in. We were greeted by a wonderfully friendly gentleman named Jeffrey. I got excited when I read the menu and saw that the dishes seemed authentic. For me, the carbonara is one dish that will tell you if the food is authentic or not. It was fantastic. Everything was well balanced with flavor. The salad was perfectly tangy and carefully assembled, from the way the lettuce was chopped to the small additions like radish that made the flavors pop. The bread was so obviously hand made and perfectly chewy. The fig and pear crumble was delicate and delightful, not overly sweet. The grande finale for me though was the key lime pie. Ingredients up in Florida so I believe my opinion holds some weight in this matter, hands down, the very best key lime pie I have ever had. We usually share an entree and a dessert but I'm glad we splurged and each got an individual dish. The servings were just right and I felt like it was money well spent on a...
