Bad experience. The single employee/ owner/ person there was rude. No one else was in line except us. The menus are all on screens and change every 10-15 seconds, so basically impossible to read. They were out of maple cold foam which is literally on their seasonal autumn latte. She said I have pumpkin cold foam, and I asked for vanilla cold foam, then she said I don’t have that, just pumpkin. As a barista myself I was very confused and just asked for whip cream.
We ordered food and then people came in behind us and ordered. It took 10-15 minutes for our 2 lattes with no line. The group of people behind us started getting their drinks AND FOOD before us. My husband went to the counter to ask for the food but she was making the peoples ordered behind us. By then we were waiting for 20-25 minutes. I guess our bag of food was sitting behind the counter. I regret tipping her. The burrito was not good and one of the lattes was gross and tasted like chocolate milk and burnt espresso. The pancake sandwich and my latte were good, which is the only redeeming quality. Will not be...
Read moreMy family (six of us) absolutely adored the Heavenly Roast! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the most friendly and warm-hearted people who we believe may be the owners or siblings to the owners? They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and chatted with us like old friends. Their kindness and genuine hospitality made us feel right at home.
The cafe itself is so charming—quaint, cozy, and welcoming. It felt like we were relaxing in our best friend’s living room, complete with the comforting aroma of fresh coffee, fire place, porch swings and cozy nooks and tables. And speaking of coffee, after stopping at 56 different locally owned coffee shops on our road trip from California to North Carolina, the Heavenly Roast hands down had the best drinks according to every person in our family! You simply cannot beat their quality, and their prices are fantastic too.
This place is a true gem, and we can't recommend it enough! If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favour and stop in—you won’t be...
Read moreSeveral reviewers have referred to The Heavenly Roast as a gem, and I must agree. Stopped by yesterday to grab some pastries and coffee. The cheese Danishes and honey buns are delicious. My husband and I got the hot campfire latte and the iced mocha latte, and they might have been the best lattes I've ever had. I was worried that the campfire would be too sweet and expressed that to the barista, Ethan. He recommended I start with half the sugar and said he would add more to my liking. Great service! I also decided to take home some ground Smokey Mountain Sunset, and Ethan offered for us to sample it. I don't usually notice a lot of flavor in flavored coffees, but the amaretto in this one really comes through. Had some this morning with just a little cream, and it was awesome. They really know what they're doing. We've definitely found our go-to coffee/pastry place for anytime we're in this neck...
