Wayne & Nancy Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Tennessee

I had been a regular 2x a week customer at wayne and nancys. I used to have a much different opinion about this business back when nancy ran it, but now it seems like it's just starting to go downhill..... I had ordered a club sandwich with ham and Turkey 2 days ago. When I arrived the sandwich was made wrong. It was simply a ham, tomato and lettuce sandwich, I will say the lady at the counter. Did notice this and took it upon herself to get my food corrected. And I waited about ten minutes, no big deal And then randomly the cook brings my tray back out and slings it on the counter with force..... I've personally worked in customer service for over 15 years, and I have never once done something to ever make a customer feel unwelcome. IM SORRY I didn't think it was an inconvenience just getting my order the way I ordered it. I then proceeded to the house after my bad experience in restaurant to find that my sandwich had been smashed back together and shoved with force back onto the toothpicks...and to top it all they still forgot bacon I had no bacon on it whatsoever. 8:05 When I realized there was no bacon on the sandwich and I tried to call the store but no answer as they close at 8. I really, really had high hopes for this place. And for the first little while it was looking up, but the last 2 or 3 visits. I've noticed a drop off in quality. Now, with the rises in inflation, we are all forced to be extra picky on what we choose to eat, because food is too expensive to make the wrong choice, If this is how a business is going to function, perhaps the money would be better...

I was greeted with a heart warming greeting. I was allowed to choose where I wanted to sit among many different booths or tables. The restaurant has a variety of booths and tables which accommodates for different group sizes. There are two long tables for a group of 6-8, five round tables for groups of 4, three square tables for a couple of an individual, and there are seven booths in this largely spaced dining area. I was real impressed on the service the waitresses demonstrated. They seem to have a very professional attitude with a fast service. The food was excellent and had a variety of menu items to choose from. There is also a daily special that is offered at this location, everything is homemade style with Breakfast being served all day, lunch specials, and an excellent dinner menu. This restaurant seems to be a one-stop shop sort of deal, offering gasoline, kerosene, groceries, along with a different variety of items, but they do not sell alcohol. Did I happened to mention this is a God loving facility and they do not seem to be ashamed to admit that. I had notice that as soon as I walked through the front door, they have posted the hours of operation at which time I noticed they are closed on Sunday, at which time I asked why? The response I received was "That way the employees can attend church if they chose to". If you want to go somewhere to get local news or events, or just someone to chat with, this is this place to check out if you are in the area. the wait...

My husband and I were out looking for some land to buy, we lost our home in the flooding last year near Erwin. We came across this restaurant, it had about 50 cars parked, and tons of people taking out orders, so we thought this place has to be good. It's the best home cooking I've had in a restaurant, in years, and the waitress's are sweet and wonderful! They even gave us information about some land that was for sale. I got the special of the day, they had two, I got the beef, and taters, with two sides, fried cabbage cornbread Mac n cheese. The other choice was fried white fish or flounder. That looked delicious and was a generous size and portion. My husband got a cheeseburger, he asked for it to be smashed thin, we don't like thick hamburgers, and they did exactly what he wanted. Everything is so Delicious! You won't be disappointed, and the prices are average, not sky high like most are these days.

We're going to have to get up early one day and go try their breakfast, I'd bet it beats any chain restaurants breakfast hands down. Can't wait to try.
