Someone recommended this place to me. Went in and from the start it was awkward. They do not offer table service which is fine but you should post a sign stating so. It was off peak hours around 135pm and I was standing around with about twenty other people trying to figure out if we seat ourselves or order food. I asked an employee named Tony what I should do and was met with a terrible attitude. His boss was yelling at him the whole time. My wife and I ordered something simple a hamburger and an avacado wrap around 145pm. We didnt know if we should pay now or after eating. We sat at a table for a half hour and we saw people that were waiting in line with us also waiting at tables for food. If the wait wasn't long enough, we witnessed Tony take money from a customer then dip his unwashed hands into a container of uncooked french fries. He used his dirty hands to place them in the deep fryer. That was the end of my rope. I paid for the crappy cup of coffee that I served myself and walked the hell out. Do not go here. Food didn't look anything special and the service completely sucked. I would put zero stars if I can, I hope the owner looks at these reviews to correct his mistakes. Perhaps are looking for a few days off of work from food poisoning or cross contamination then this may be...
Read moreWe had a good experience overall - good inventive sandwiches with homemade rolls. Fresh potato chips and fries. Old country store ambience in a cute small town. I also like that they offer table service.
Here’s why it’s not 5 stars ….
while the rolls are homemade, it appears they’re used for all/most?of the sandwiches - it’s not suitable to use that roll for all the sandwiches, ie, there should be a variety of breads used (ie, rye, ciabatta, etc) - also the rolls, while good, don’t hold up to some of the heartier sandwiches
in particular, as concerns the pastrami sandwich, rather than the typical thin-sliced deli pastrami, the pastrami is served in huge chunks on the roll, which makes it nearly impossible to eat as a sandwich, as the huge chunks simply fall out of the roll (this is not rocket science here) - while I’m sure the chef likes his unique take on pastrami, do people actually prefer eating a pastrami sandwich this way?
finally, while it was a hot day when we were there, it was way too warm to comfortably have lunch in the dining area - please adequately cool the space so customers will...
I don’t know how this place is still in business. For $50 (yes, fifty dollars), I got two mediocre sandwiches, a side, and some drinks. This place is trying so hard to be “fancy” and “hip,” but it fails miserably. It took a ridiculous 30 minutes to get my food—just sandwiches! I ordered a turkey sandwich on rye, but they didn’t even have rye bread! How do you mess that up?
But let me tell you, the food wasn’t the worst part. While waiting forever for my meal, I saw the employees in the back eating food straight out of the fryer while cooking for customers! They weren’t even trying to hide it—grabbing fresh fries, picking at the food, and going right back to work without washing their hands. Disgusting. To top it off, I saw one of them picking their nose before handling food. How is this even allowed?
This place is a stain on the community. The restaurant they replaced was a beloved spot with affordable, delicious breakfasts and deli sandwiches. Now, we’re stuck with this overpriced disaster, and it’s a complete joke. Bring back the old restaurant—we deserve better than this...
