Capellini's has been a go-to restaurant for several years with very good pizza and Italian food in a nice setting. Unfortunately, our last few experiences have not been good. Several weeks ago we went there for pizza (before 7 pm) only to be told they were out of pizza dough. I guess that can happen, but shouldn't. The explanation was, "the word is out, everyone wants our pizza." On our last visit my wife and I ordered two different pizzas, to be split with half of each served there and the remaining halves boxed to take home. We also ordered a Caesar salad to share. This was a Sunday evening, no snow, and there were only 4 other customers in the restaurant...it was before 7 pm and NOT busy. After waiting more than 15 minutes we asked the waitress about our salad, only to be told she forgot to place the order with the kitchen. Our pizzas arrived next, two halves as requested, but the halves were not sliced. As we struggled to slice our pizza, our waitress returned, informed us that the kitchen was out of Caesar dressing, and asked if we wanted a different salad. We did not want anything at that point! (Do I see a trend here?) Pizza toppings were always meager so I order double toppings. That didn't seem to help as toppings were again meager. What's more, the crust on the relatively small pizza has gotten wider and wider so there isn't all that much room for toppings. I felt short changed. Rather than go public with my concerns, I emailed the restaurant about several of the above issues. I didn't even receive an "I'm sorry"; therefore, I have elected to go public since it isn't clear that anything will improve and customers should know what could happen. Note: This review is based on facts rather than opinions. With a little attention to detail, this could once again be the fine neighborhood restaurant...
Read moreWe were in the area and decided to try this restaurant. Was pleasantly surprised. The best part was the service. Our waitress was AMAZING. We started with bread and olive oil. We got the Sicilian Calamari for an appetizer. Flavor was good, but the app wasn't great. The kids got the children's pizzas which also came with a dessert (cookie or ice cream). I ordered the Cappellini Special, which the waitress suggested taking away the tomatoes, adding sun-dried tomatoes and capers. Delizioso! My wife ordered the Chicken Verona. Also good. The prices when we got there were a little bit higher than the menu online, but still very good. They just need to update their website. Would have loved to have some tiramisu for dessert but when we got there (before dinner time) we heard them saying that it was gone 😞 If we are ever in the area again I will be sure to come back. Definitely suggest going here if you...
