Golden Palace — Restaurant in Texarkana

There's literally no way these 5 star reviews are legit. I ate there yesterday and the food was absolutely horrible. I literally spit two things out of my mouth and back on the plate. Most chicken dishes had a texture like a wet sponge. The chicken on a stick was so overcooked I couldn't even tear it apart with my fingers. It was hard as a rock. Everything tasted like old grease.

When you walk in the foyer, it smells like fish gone bad. A true stinch. The carpet is disgusting and filthy. It looks like it has never been cleaned. Ever.

The wait staff was friendly, I'll give them that but the food was revolting. I had not eaten there in years and a friend wanted that for lunch so I came along for the ride. I regretted that decision almost immediately. My stomach started cramping with an hour of eating there and almost 24 hours later, it's still cramping.

Overall, I really enjoy eating here. The servers are always very attentive, but sometimes they are a little too attentive, especially if they are slow. Some people like this, but it happens I do not like it when people come up to me and start talking to me. That, however, did not negatively impact my review because it's just good customer service. You can order to-go if you want, but that way, you have to pay individually for everything you get. The prices are decent and the food is good. Everyone is polite and friendly. The only people I know that do not enjoy this restaurant didn't even like this kind of food in the first place. I really enjoy the different types of chicken they serve. Most people can find something here they enjoy eating, which makes this place great for large families. I always hear this place get compared to The One. I love Golden Palace. It's the only inexpensive Chinese buffet that you can go to that's worth the money. It's all you can eat buffet. I love the Sushi, crab wonton, and all the veggies. All the food is made fresh, and kept fresh. The place is kept clean. The staff is always friendly and inviting. Every time I had visited Golden Palace I have enjoyed my visit. The staff has always greeted my family and myself with a smile, and was always helpful. I have been going here since last year in 2020, before Covid hit.
