Big Daddy's Burgers — Restaurant in Texas

To start off I want to say that my order was made correctly and the food was hot. The service wasn’t bad at all but the server never came back to table after taking order and dropping off food. Still not bad service tho just needs a little more attention towards customer to shine a bit. Now to talk about the atmosphere. The atmosphere was probably the one thing I would really have to complain about. The TV doesn’t have anything worth watching on and it’s in my opinion just trying to pull you away from the thing that matters which is the food and guests you have with you. My recommendation would be to paint interior and remove TV or just leave music videos on. Would also recommend an upgrade to the tables because they feel so tacky and wobbly. Consider changing the lighting and it’ll be nice. There is also very different music in that environment than I’m used too. Not too sure what music to pick but I’d recommend going to a few competitors to see what they play and check from there. Next I’m going to the most important part of any restaurant, the food. I genuinely think the order I placed (the jr daddy with mustard, purple onion, tomato, lettuce, sliced jalapeño, cheddar cheese and bacon) was great! In my opinion flavor is very subjective but the flavor as a whole was really nice from the patty and it was a very plentiful size if you like a lotta meat on your buns! So the reason I made the food a 3 star and not a 4 or higher is because of multiple reasons. The first thing is the portions for the toppings is all over the place. For lettuce I got like 2-3 burgers worth of lettuce on my one burger. I also ordered tomato on it and got 1 very tiny slice of tomato which was extremely disappointing bc I like tomato in my burgers. The jalapeños was legit a full small cans worth for 1 burger. They can give half the jalapeños and it would be enough. The bacon was very plentiful but also looked like A LOT. I got 3-4 FULL slices of bacon and they were delicious but some might feel it’s a bit much. Some people are there for a massive burger but those that think the jr daddy is a medium sized burger you are mistaken. The burger was HUGE and I ordered it twice now. Both times I couldn’t eat more than 2-3 fries after the burger. One major gripe that made the food lean more to a 3 star than a 4 star is their free chips and salsa. The chips CLEARLY not only LOOK but TASTE like they were Re-Re-Re-dipped in oil. Feels like chips they make in batches reheated and served the next day. I went at 12:10pm and there was not one other customer in the establishment. For a Sunday on lunch peak hour it just shows that there are some things that should change in the business for it to improve. If there is one thing to take away from this review it’s that the food is good and the service isn’t bad just needs work. Also the vibe isn’t there so if they change some small things like the stuff I mentioned above I truly think it could be a really nice hot spot for a beast burger. We have eaten here for year's and have always enjoyed it. Food great, service most of the time good BUT, this evening my husband and I went here and had the worse service we have EVER had there !!! Server could have cared less if we were there or not. She acted like it irritated her to even wait on us. She was more concerned with her phone. Never came to see if everything was OK or if we needed refills. Was on her phone from the time our food was delivered until a couple of minutes before we paid and left and the only reason she got off the phone then was because a couple with a little girl came in and seated themselves . The one refill my husband did get, I had to call her multiple time's before she even looked up from her phone, when she did bring tea refill, she just kinda slammed it down and walked off. The radio station they had on was SO LOUD AND WAS JUST THUMP, THUMP, THUMP. FELT LIKE WE WERE IN A NIGHTCLUB INSTEAD OF A FAMILY RESTAURANT. IT WAS HORRIBLE. THE PEPPER SHAKERS WERE COMPLETELY EMPTY. SHE LOOKED UP FROM HER PHONE LONG ENOUGH TO WATCH ME GO TO 3 DIFFERENT TABLES BEFORE I FOUND EVEN A SMALL AMOUNT OF PEPPER. SHE JUST WENT RIGHT BACK TO HER PHONE. I WAS A SERVER FOR MANY, MANY YEAR'S AND THAT WOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN TOLERATED. I COULDN'T BELIEVE THIS WAS BIG DADDY'S !!! IF THAT'S WHAT THEIR SERVICE AND ATMOSPHERE IS GOING TO CONTINUE TO BE, WE WILL DEFINITELY BE LOOKING FOR ANOTHER BURGER PLACE. IT'S REALLY VERY SAD BECAUSE WE HAVE ALWAYS LOVED GOING THERE. THE FOOD WAS GOOD BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WAS TERRIBLE !!!! AND WE WERE THE ONLY TABLE IN THERE, WASN'T LIKE SHE WAS BUSY. SHE JUST DIDN'T CARE !!! WE WERE THERE ABOUT 420 PM TODAY, Friday ( MARCH 8th , 2024 ). Whoever is in charge need's to have a real talk with this server. She was horrible !!!! WE ATE AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE AND LEFT BECAUSE OF THE VERY EXCESSIVELY LOUD MUSIC AND HORRIBLE SERVICE !! I'm sure we will go bck for the simple fact we've always enjoyed it, and that has always been our go to burger place BUT, IF WE EVER EXPERIENCE THIS AGAIN IT WILL BE OUR LAST TIME And I definitely won't be recommending it like we always have. I treated my current side chick to burgers, fries and onion rings today for lunch. I decided to finally give Big Daddys Burgers a try, everyone is always telling me how great the burgers are here. We ordered cheese burgers and a coke, French fries came free, and also ordered onion rings. My only concern is that they don't sell Mexican coke. The waitress brought us complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was freshly made, with just the right amount of heat and spectacular flavor. What a masterpiece of a burger, with a thick, juicy patty of fresh beef, grilled to perfection and topped with cheese that drapes over the edges. It's nestled in a lightly toasted, soft bun and layered with crisp lettuce, ripe tomato, and fresh purple onion. The savory, meaty flavor is complemented by the condiments, creating a truly mouthwatering experience. Alongside the burger is a generous mound of golden-brown french fries. Each fry is perfectly crisp on the outside with a tender, fluffy potato interior, delivering a satisfying crunch and a warm, earthy flavor with every bite. The light dusting of salt makes them irresistible. Completing the plate are the hand-breaded onion rings, with a delicate, golden-brown crust that shatters on impact.
