1st time here and brought a few teens to a basketball practice/tryout. This place was on my list to visit so was really looking forward to it. Planned to eat and try the bar afterwards as menus and reviews were nice. Walked in, promptly greeted by staff and directed where we needed to go. Big facility with lots to do for individuals of all age groups. Once practice was over, teens went to an empty bball court to play while I waited to speak with the coach. Staff approached teens and kindly advised they needed a wristband to play on the court and to please exit. Teens did as requested and exited the court and went back to their original court. Other kids were still playing and one Coach was playing with a toddler. Staff followed the teens and again told them they needed a wristband to play on the court they were already playing on and to please exit. They were there for practice and no wristband was initially required, but again, teens did as requested and came to wait off the court with me. While speaking to the assistant coach, the teens went to the restroom. I noticed Staff did not approach younger kids or adults to advise them of the wristband nor request that they exit the court. After my conversation with the coach, teens returned and I asked who was hungry. They all stated they was ready to go. I asked why as again, I was looking forward to trying the food! The teens said the guy that asked them to exit the court was waiting outside the restrooms when they were done and made them feel uncomfortable as if they were following them. I told them I understood as I saw the staff following them when they went to play on the other court. So, we packed up our belongings and proceeded to leave. I stopped to use the restroom and told the teens to wait for me. Once I was done, they ran ahead and proceeded to play on the field outside. About 30sec later while walking across the parking lot, another staff was walking right next to me and was focused on the field. I said Hello and he said Hi. I then asked if he was on his way to ask the teens to get off the field and he said yes. I said don't bother. They are with me and we are leaving. He said oh! Stopped walking and watched as I told the teens they can not play on the field so get in the car. There were a few toddlers and smaller kids playing on the field that did not have a wristband. (I assume they were OK to play as a parent yelled across the parking lot for one of them to come finish their food.) Staff continued to watch as the teens gathered their belongings and we all walked to the car, got in and drove away. 1st time visiting and unfortunately will be our last. The staff made the teens uncomfortable and I did not like how they followed the teens to ask them to exit everything. A better way to handle things would've been to first find the Adult that brought the teens as they were 13/14 and not old enough to drive. Then say "Hi adults. Thanks for visiting. Is this your first time here? Awesome! How about we give you and the teens a tour of our facility and I can explain how everything works. There is something here for everyone." Staff wasn't rude but customer service could've definitely been better! Maybe this place/staff are kid/adult friendly and don't really like teenagers. Who knows! We just...
Read moreUPDATE 6/17: A rep/manager contacted me about my initial visit to learn more about my experience and to get some insight on how they could improve. He was very kind and understanding of why I gave the review I did. He apologized for the poor experience and is providing me with a refund, which I did not expect. I genuinely think this could be a really cool place with some good feedback and adjustments. I appreciate managements refund and the prompt communication. As I said in my review, the kids had a great time and we intend on returning. Hopefully things will have improved service-wise.
Visited for the first time today with my 3 kids. Overall, this place has a great concept, but also has A LOT of work to do to be an overall great establishment. It seems as if most of the waitstaff and employees monitoring the play area are teens with little direction/knowledge of customer service. As far as food and drinks go, quality was hit or miss. Menu options arenât great to begin with in my opinion, and they were out of the first 2 things I asked for. The salad I ended up settling for was full of browning lettuce. There were only 7 tables of people dining, and although I saw 10+ employees going in and out of the kitchen, it appeared that only 2 girls were waitressing and had a hard time keeping up as it took forever to get food/drink refills. Our waitressâ shift came to an end while we were dining, so we closed out with her, but apparently there was a lapse in communication because nobody else ever came back to the table to continue service until we asked. Later on I went to the coffee counter to order and nobody was there. I had to ask for help to get a coffee and it still took 5 minutes for an employee to come over. As far as paying for play, the first teen employee I spoke to seemed to have no training on how to run a credit card on the iPad, the manager had to come over and show her. I was also disappointed to learn that a birthday party had completely rented out the entire left side of the indoor soccer area, so we could not use it for 2 hours even though we had just paid for wristbands. A little heads up about area closures would have been nice before paying. Later on I spoke to a second teen employee about reserving a batting cage and he incorrectly told me that none were available and Iâd have to wait for an hour. I went over and asked a manager just to double check and lo and behold, a batting cage was, in fact, available.
For the positives: my kids had an absolute blast. We stayed for 5 hours and they did not want to leave. The manager I spoke to was nice, helpful, and seemed to know his stuff. The place was cleaner than what I expected. Again, the overall concept is a good one. This is a great place to eat, unwind, and watch games on big screens while your kids play nearby. I think if management can get a handle on better communication/training of employees, this place has a lot of potential. Because the kids had so much fun, I would recommend everyone try it out, just donât expect stellar or...
Read moreWe recently visited Community Fieldhouse and I must say, we were very disappointed with the overall experience. As a young family who loves to play sports and stay active, we were really excited about this place opening. However, they have a lot of work to do in terms of the environment, training their staff and providing better service. When we arrived on a Sunday afternoon, the inside of the facility wasn't crowded, but every field was "reserved", including the outside area. We waited patiently for 20 minutes for a server to show up, and when they finally did, they took our order. Unfortunately, after another 20 minutes of waiting, we realized that our order had been completely forgotten. When we approached the bar to inquire about our order, we were informed that there was no record of it. Eventually, we did receive our food, but our server never came to check on our drinks. We never received even an apology for horrible service. Food was also not super fresh. The hummus was dry and you can tell itâs been sitting out for a while before it was served. And when we wanted to get someone's attention for the bill, we were unsuccessful until we had to go up to the bar area again and ask to pay. It was frustrating to see that the place was only about 20% full, yet there were 15-20 staff members just chatting with each other and not paying attention to the customers. Service gets 0 stars! Furthermore, I expected Community Fieldhouse to be a family-friendly establishment, but the music selection was quite inappropriate. Many songs with profanity and "not clean" versions were playing, which was not suitable for a family environment. Overall, while Community Fieldhouse has the potential to be a great place for families and sports enthusiasts. At the moment it is primarily catered towards teenagers and adult groups who want to reserve a "field" in advance for team sports. They need to improve their environment, service and ensure that their staff is attentive to the...
