Devine Wine Bar Brunch Review
We visited Devine Wine Bar today for brunch, arriving at 11:00 am. We were immediately seated, a pleasant surprise considering the restaurant was relatively quiet with only a handful of other patrons. This allowed us to choose our preferred seating, and we opted for a comfortable booth.
We began with Irish coffees, which were decent but not particularly memorable – a solid, standard cup of coffee. My wife enjoyed a selection of sides, including bacon and a fruit plate, while I opted for the two-egg plate accompanied by potatoes and bacon. I also ordered a spiced Bloody Mary. The food arrived promptly and was well-prepared and tasty.
The ambiance of Devine Wine Bar is surprisingly charming, especially considering its proximity to a Valero gas station. The interior is well-designed, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Our waiter, Mark, was exceptionally pleasant and personable, contributing to a positive dining experience.
Overall, we enjoyed our brunch and plan to return to Devine Wine Bar to sample their lunch and dinner menus.
However, I do have a strong objection to the restaurant's policy of charging a 3.5% credit card processing fee to the customer. In my opinion, this surcharge creates a negative customer experience and has the potential to deter patrons. Adding this additional fee, especially when other nearby establishments do not, risks driving customers away. It is a detail that significantly impacts the overall impression and could influence future...
Read moreFriends took us there for dinner excited for us to see this great place. When we were seated the server came over, handed us the menus and asked what we wanted before we had looked at the menu. There was no silverware and napkins on the table. We asked for napkins and he said he would bring them. I ordered a margarita and it was so sour that it almost sucked my lips and toes inside. It was the worst I have ever had. I asked for some Grand Marnier to add to make it sweet. It tasted like it was diluted and when I added and stirred it was still the same; horrible. The Sangria tasted like cheep wine with a bit of something to sweeten it a tad bit. Then we were brought our salad and before we could take a bite we were brought our food. Why did we have to wait so long without the salad coming to our table? Frustrating. My pizza was great and the bathroom was super cool. I don’t know that I would go back again unless our friends wanted to go and I would make sure to let them know that I wanted my salad WAY BEFORE the food and would get a simple glass of wine that can’t be messed up. One star for the bathroom and one star for the pizza 🍕. I added a video of...
Read moreA few unfortunate details made our experience much less enjoyable than what we expected. First of all, the restaurants entry is not ADA compliant. Thankfully, I brought a ramp to get up over the front door threshold. Not friendly for handicapped patrons. Second, pork chops were very tough and overcooked. Two of us wish we had ordered something else. It distracted from what was marginally tasty and very tough to eat. Third, there were two $12.00 drinks added to the check that no one ordered. Honest mistake or an old trick (not sure) that I immediately noticed. Buyer Beware, and please be sure to examine/ review your check very carefully. Finally, the establishment added 3.5% for "non-cash payment charge." No prior notice, no explanation, no posting on menu. That bothered me. I simply deducted that amount from the tip and left that much less. Again, Buyer Beware. We did, however, enjoy the live music. Prices are high on alcohol drinks. Food prices are perhaps a bit high for the lack of quality, taste, preparation and delivery to the table. Overall,...
