El Perron — Restaurant in Texas

• Do not go here if paying with a credit card* We went today and the food was good, but I was charged 10% fee for paying with a debit card. I was not told about this when I ordered my food, otherwise I would have left right then and there. once I ate my food I had no choice but to pay it because I did not have cash on me. I disputed this there at the register and was brushed off. I spoke to a manager and he would not budge on this fee. I looked up the legality of this on line and this is what I found. The practice of always charging customers a fee for credit card payments, no matter how the transaction takes place, is called a surcharge. These are currently prohibited in 10 states—Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Oklahoma, and Texas. Where surcharges are allowed, they are only allowed on credit cards, and not on debit. Also Merchants cannot charge more than the actual cost of credit card processing or 4%, whichever is lower. El perron is charging 10% This means they are profiting at least 6% off of every card transaction. Also the surcharge is supposed to appear clearly on the receipt, but what they did is add 10% to every menu item. If I did my math right I was also taxed on that 10%. This is not right! I will never eat...

Ok. I gave it a try based on reviews and dont need to come back. Burger patty was thin and zero flavor. It was all bun. Fries were thin and under cooked and soggy. Again, no salt or seasoning added. Other tables had regular service plates but for some reason, they packed mine to go. The heat wrapped up with shrink wrap on my styrofoam plate, prolly made the fries soggy. Sat on the patio with my dog which was the only good part. Owners have their kids running around jumpin ON TOP of the patio tables! No one correcting behavior, so i told the kid twice to cut it out. Im a local elementary school teacher and just another example of our students in this district, allowed to do whatever without teachings or consequences. How about a coloring book or an activity to keep him busy while at work? (At least no cell phone in his hands) I did it when i owned my restaurants w/two kids in tow. I get it! Lots of traffic noise. Could benefit from some music playing to make atmosphere better. From one owner to another in the F&B industry.....minor improvements make a big difference. First.....control ur kid from yelling and running around! Pls! 🙏🏼 Good luck! I see heavy overhead, heavy staffed for low numbers and its a super slow...

This place is the bomb!! The hot dogs there are so delicious for the type of hot dogs and hamburgers that they do serve there because I was judging the looks of the place and thinking I was going to get served something totally different due to the way it's way to Mexican for my taste thinking that the hot dogs were going to be awfully too spicy cuz they sure do like everything almost too spicy and I don't do spicy at all. So I was judging the book by its cover if you will. I wish I would have taken a picture so I could have showed what I was served to go along with this review to prove my point to those who are a little weary like I was to go there. Lol! I'm referring to those people that do like that style of hot dog that I was served and would go because they'd be surprised that they were the style that I was served. By the way I'm not racist or anything I also MMA Hispanic basically MMA Mexican just not THAT Mexican lol! I'm a fake Mexican if you will that is just a little too...
