Me and my family ate here on 3/5/25. FOR ONE MY WIFES burrito was loaded with Soggy french fries that we did not ask for and was not on the menu my burrito taste old and like plastic it was so bad we couldn't eat if we wanted to.
Our waiter had to confirm our juanita's burritos more than 3 times and never asked what meat to put on it. It was simple one with red salsa and one with cheese, both no lettuce. After confirming back to back, another waiter had to walk over and help him after he clearly finally and finally understood. He's not new there. Also, I ordered a family quasadila meal for my kids. Come to find out, now on FAMILY MEALS rice and beans IS NOT INCLUDED and it's extra. That's CRAZY and I've never in my life heard of FAMILY MEALS NOT HAVING SIDES. MY MONEY SPENT WENT DOWN THE DRAIN DO TO NASTY TASTING FOOD WITH OLD FRIES IN IT, NOR WOULD I EVER EAT A BURRITO LIKE THAT. Read moreSo this was our first visit at Juanitas this past Sunday around 5:30. Food was ok, nothing impressive, margarita was ok; but the service is what I want to write about.
Our server seemed hostile since the begging and gave the impression that he doesn’t like working on this location since he’s usually on the other location on Cypress, he stopped at our table two times: to take our drinks order and to take our food order. I thought about talking with the manager since I saw him walking around checking on other tables, but he didn’t stopped by ours either.
The only reason I’m giving them the star is because of Nacho (the busser) he gave us an excellent service, bringing the food and everything we needed, bringing the drinks, giving us refills, he answered some questions we had about the menu, checking on us frequently, taking our plates when we finished, bringing the check and collecting the payment.
Of course we asked if he gets some of the tips and he said he gets 30% of whatever the server makes. Well in this case, he deserved the 100%. I asked him why he doesn’t become a server and he answered “because I can’t read or write” and made me think of all the possible ways of how the owner could help him out to grow since he’s been working for them for 15 years.
It makes me wonder how much they care for their employees. I even saw some costumers saying hi and shaking hands with him which makes me think that more people recognize his hard work.
The only 5 stars this location deserves are for...
Read morePerhaps my favorite TexMex place. I've been going here since I was in middle school and now I continue to go here after college during my lunch break at work... Yeah, it's been around for that long. Over the years, I still see the same restaurant owner (but he's grown some gray hairs) and I've seen this place expand in leasing space. What started off as a normal small name restaurant to a booming large family restaurant. Every night I drive home from work on Louetta and you can see the parking lot filled with cars... They're definitely not there for Black's Market, no sir.
This place has two different types of salsas and I love them both. One salsa is nice and spicy. The other one is less spicy but hotter in temperature (and that one is my preferred choice). The diverse menu has an extremely large amount of choices and it's really cheap. I think out of the 12 years I've gone here, the prices have only increased by probably $2 but I'm still able to get my personal favorite meal for $11: The full order of cheese enchiladas. The margaritas are also very good. They also have sports games on and it ranges from soccer to football.
You will leave this restaurant as full as a cow because it is admittedly a lot of food. This place indeed a place to go after church, after work, or a simple family pass time. Could not be more proud of the manager for being around...
