Heads Up: Think Twice Before Eating at Los Faroles - Serious Sanitation Concerns
I feel I have a duty to share some deeply concerning information about the kitchen sanitation at Los Faroles restaurant. As a nearby resident, I have witnessed their daily practices for some time and felt compelled to investigate further.
The issue is their back door and dumpster area. The restaurant consistently cooks with their kitchen's back door wide open. This door is directly exposed to a notoriously filthy and unsecured dumpster area. The dumpster is often left open, and the surrounding space is littered with overflowing trash and debris.
This isn't just an eyesore; it's a major health hazard. With the kitchen door open, there is nothing preventing contaminants, pests, and odors from flowing directly into the food preparation area. The risk of cross-contamination is extremely high.
The problem is so severe that it has created a massive vulture problem. Every single morning, there are 30 or more vultures circling, on the roofs, and feeding from the open dumpster. These are birds that are biologically designed to seek out rotting waste, and they are constantly in contact with the same area that's open to the kitchen.
I have tried to address this directly with the restaurant on multiple occasions, but my concerns have been completely dismissed. In fact, they have now blocked my phone number to avoid being reminded to simply close their dumpster lid.
Frustrated and alarmed, I have since installed a camera documenting these conditions. I am compiling all footage and sending it directly to the city's health department. A formal case is being built, but these processes take time.
In the meantime, for your own health, I would strongly urge you to avoid eating at Los Faroles. When you eat there, you are likely eating food prepared in an environment that is actively exposed to waste and the pests it attracts.
Your health is not worth the risk. Remember: the kitchen is right there by the open door.

Read more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LIVE ROACH IN FOOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was the worst experience at a restaurant I think I have ever endured. The evening started off promising as I was visiting my family for the holidays and my parents suggested Los Faroles for dinner on our last night in town. We were a party of 14 and the drinks and laughter flowed until our food arrived. My brother in law opened his tortilla container and was stunned due to the LIVE ROACH crawling inside. The container was cold giving us the impression it had been sitting out. When we notified the establishment they brushed it off and stated they had removed his entree. When I explained that no one at the table could touch their meals having lost all appetite and that we were all disgusted (the food had just arrived and next to nothing was touched) the management representatives became argumentative continuously explaining away the LIVE ROACH. We were treated as if we had done something wrong. I refused to both eat and pay for the food and they complied as if they were doing me a favor. I was purposely discreet as not to alert the full restaurant or cause a scene for the other customers but we were still treated hostly. When the drink bill was presented there was still charges that were not correct. At that point though my party wanted to just walk out and not pay anything we paid $50 of our bill. Long story short the restaurant has a ROACH PROBLEM and they do not know how to treat their customers. It really tainted my entire holiday trip being it was my last night with family. STAY AWAY FROM...
Read moreI was super excited to go back to this place, I use to lIve in the neighborhood and would walk over with my babies, well my baby is 18 now. I took her and her brother to go eat while I had to take care of an important matter. My kids had enchiladas mole and chicken "they both enjoyed their meal very much" So my husband and I went back to have ourselves lunch and I asking the waiter questions and it seemed as if I bothered him. I just love REAL Mexican food and wanted is intake. I ordered the tamales (they were good, but wayyyyyyy more masa then meat, my husband ordered the torta good but very small. We were the only customers after 2 other sets left, and we had to wait a ridiculously long time for refills, chips and salsa. I'm telling my husband that is guy is pretty rude to us verses the way he interacted with the other guest who were white (mind you I'm half white, half Mexican, my husband is Mexican, my daughter is brown and my son is lite). My husband said I was probably over reacting but more white customers came in and the waiters whole persona changed, he was smiling, interacting, great service, all around new service from what we experienced. IT IS ABSOLUTELY SAD THAT MY KIDS CONTINUE TO HAVE TO WITNESS RACISM BY THEIR OWN PEOPLE'S (YES PEOPLES BECAUSE WE ARE MIXED AND ITS ALWAYS ONE OR THE OTHER) LOS FAROLES DO BETTER, TREAT EACH PERSON THE SAME, MY KIDS ARE EXPERIENCED SO MUCH HATE IN THIS SHORT LIFE, ONE DAY OF KINDNESS WOULD HAVE BEEN...
