We recently hosted our son’s rehearsal dinner at Maven’s at Canyon Lake, and I truly don’t have enough words to express how perfect the experience was from start to finish. Not only was the event itself absolutely phenomenal, but having the added convenience of our out-of-town guests staying right on-site at the charming motel made the entire weekend seamless and extra special.
The food? Perfection. Every dish was beautifully prepared, delicious, and received rave reviews from our guests (many of whom are still talking about it!). I especially loved the fried chicken sliders! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, fun yet relaxed—exactly the vibe we hoped for on such an important evening.
What really sets Maven’s apart, though, is the people. Kris, the owner, was so thoughtful and involved, ensuring every detail was just right. His wife Melissa brought such a personal, gracious touch. And April, the general manager, was an absolute gem—so attentive, kind, and a true pro at anticipating our needs before we even voiced them. The entire staff radiated hospitality; it genuinely felt like they were celebrating with us.
We are endlessly grateful for the care, joy, and heart that the Maven’s team poured into our event. It exceeded all expectations, and we’ll forever hold this evening close to our hearts. If you’re considering hosting an event or simply looking for a wonderful getaway spot—run, don’t walk. Maven’s...
Read moreI'll start with saying that the wait staff was extremely nice and attentive.
But that's really where it stops.
It was my girlfriend and I's anniversary, and we decided to give a local business a shot.
We both ordered sirloins. She ordered hers medium and it came out medium well, heavily on the side of well.
I ordered mine medium rare, and the chef performed magic.
While the inside was kind of rare, albeit a little dry.
The outside was tough and chewy.
The vegetables my girlfriend ordered were pretty good according to her, so no qualms there.
On my BACON Mac N cheese there was nothing but two tiny pieces of bacon.
Although, I will say they got the cheese right. It was a perfect amount of creamy and flavorful! The pasta wasn't bad either.
Just the lack of bacon was the issue in the BACON Mac n cheese.
The fries were good for the most part, although there were a few where you could really just taste nothing but dirt. Even with ketchup on them.
The best part though, was the cat!
Definitely the best employee they got!
Cat went table to table making sure everyone had their food and even had a small sample of my steak, which the cat also disagreed with, but ate anyways to really take one for the team and pull through for the Business.
That cat 10/10 deserves a raise. If not financially then in scraps!
Might be back just to see...

Not being much of a drinker nor do I hang out at bars/pubs....i didn't know what their hours were. The cute little brunette bar tender said they're closing real soon and that after she served me a drink. I would have to down it and go. Well white Russian I'll take. The bartender quipped back " a tall or a short". I said I'm like in virgin territory and. for her to surprise me . she whipped up a mighty fine tasting tall White Russian. I gingerly sipped at it an about 2/3rds of the down I felt a warm wave of inebriation flow down over me.Quite frankly it's been a long time since. I have felt a stress free quiddy drunk. The bartender must have seen the wrought I carried on my shoulders. She came over and we chatted for a couple of minutes. She said I have time for another white Russian and I opted to drink 1 more. The bar tender mixes a great white Russian. She was very intuitive and surprisingly very upbeat considering she was at The end of her shift. I feel bad not asking her name. maven's is lucky to have her...Her friendliness, upbeat personality and her mixology experience made my White Russians...
