Polo's Mexican Food — Restaurant in Texas

The menudo used to be good but I went recently and it was not good at all. It’s not authentic chile it was like nasty taste of powder chile. Also out server was not nice at all. She rushed us into ordering and even when we would speak like hmm what about this plate and she’d repeat it and immediately write it down and I would look at her like I’m asking about it not ordering. Plain rude. Maybe she had a bad day or whatever but we noticed and weren’t happy. & the way she would make a face and scratch out what she wrote. Then I asked for burritos and said never mind I want menudo and like I said her faces weren’t nice at all. When the food came out she brought me both menudo and the burritos and I told her I wanted this instead of that and she didn’t take it off the ticket. I wasn’t in the mood so I just left it and took the menudo home and the burritos were disgusting!!!! The ground beef burrito was all messy and greasy!!! The beans and cheese burrito was awful and had chorizo in it and you can tel the chorizo wasn’t cooked all the way. Also my some of my family had coffee and we had to bug her for refills. The coffee was good but the was giving us old coffe that mostly has foam. Some of the family liked it but I won’t go back again. At least let me say a good thing’s! Extremely disappointed! I've been going to polo's for the past 10- 15 years I love this place. But tonight I got ripped off I paid $10 each for 2 beef potatoe cheese burritos smothered with queso ( my favorite & what I always get) the burrito had one little tiny spot inside it that had a pinch of cheese & the burrito was definitely not smothered in queso there wasn't even enough queso on it to cover it it basically had a tsp of queso on it. I would of been better off buying 2 burritos& getn the queso seperate & pouring it on it. So very very disappointed that I paid $20 for this meal & it wasn't even worth $5! If you get charged for things on the plate then you should get plenty of it enough to justify the price that you're charging. Unfortunately I made the mistake picked it up to go & didn't realize what they did until I was already home way out in Gardendale too far to drive back to complain & get it fixed. Lesson learned. My husband and i went to eat lunch befire going to a funeral and our food was cold and wanted it remade they brought back the same plate after beinf warmed up in the microwave and our plates and food still want hot so i had them remade and when they brought our remake back the plates where not hot at all and our meat was cold. I asked for the manager and asked him was is the plates supposed to be warm or hot and he said hot and i asked him to feel the plate no its not hot at all. He apologizedand i said the 21 yrs i have been in the food industry u are not supposed to delivercold food that draws away customers and hot fresh food brings in new customers. Why should i have to pay for our food if i cant get it hot. So he went to talk to someone and he came back and said that he will pay for it and i rold him that my husband and i will never be back.
