Startz Cafe — Restaurant in Texas

My first and last experience with this place is based solely on customer service and proprietor policies as my husband and I didn't stay long enough to eat. We drove miles out of our way to try the place, having seen billboards and adverts for Startz Cafe, only to wait 10 minutes past their opening time for the sign to change to "open". Once in the restaurant, we chose a table. Our waitress arrived with one paper menu and when we asked for another, started schooling us on the restaurant rules. Only one menu per 4 patrons because the owner didn't want to spend so much money on colored paper and she could sure tell we weren't "regulars" because we didn't park properly. All the locals knew how they were supposed to park.

I don't know why it mattered so much with us being the only patrons yet to arrive, but when my husband offered, she agreed it would be best if he re-parked properly. (The parking lot has no striping at all to denote whether to park head-on or at an angle and we'd angled.)

My husband ordered coffee, me water and we asked for real we can't get another menu? She said no, most people just read it aloud to the others. At that point, neither if us felt welcomed and wouldn't have enjoyed our breakfast, had we ordered one, so we chose to pay for the coffee and left.

Never have either if us felt so undervalued as patrons in a restaurant. The one star is because hubby said the 2 sips of coffee he...

I walk in to the restaurant after opened for business and one of the waitresses had a real disrespectful attitude towards me for the entire time or duration of my visit at startz Cafe she told me to seat myself or get out and leave ask for a menu she gave me one sat down I ordered French toast 2 sunny side up eggs and a sweet tea upon paying my ticket she then continued and proceeded to give me more attitude and said she heard what I did to Debra startz son and she doesn't care what I say in my defense so I can leave apparently Debra startz at startz Cafe has been slandering my name amongst her coworkers and I will not put up with it at all and said slandering that's happening to my name is apparently referring to the night that Debra startz son James startz decided to get wasted drunk and attack me and choke me out to death while I was minding my own business playing video games at night and I had no choice but to protect myself against Debra startz son I will also be reporting this to the better Business bureau as well I expect that going forwards in the future that the employees and the owners of start Cafe here in Texas change their attitude towards me permanently for the better of both business and friendship. I've lived in the neighborhood for over 2yrs. I was hesitant to go in because there's really no curb appeal at all. But every time I drove by the parking lot it was packed. So today when I had family and friends in town, I decided to try it out. We were all pleasantly surprised. It was very clean and the decor was a fun throw back to the 60's. With vintage pinball machines, jukebox and furnishings. We were greeted with a friendly welcome, sit where ever you like. The waitress was very sweet and accomadating. The food is real home cooked meals. Very fresh! The taco salad was excellent. My friend had the chicken fried steak. She said it was the best she ever had. The burger was juicy and delicious. My niece had the enchilada and she loved it. I have nothing bad to say. But this review comes with a warning for you...bring cash or check! They do not except debit or credit cards.😲 I'll know for next time...thank goodness there was an ATM right outside the restaurant!🤣 I will be back for sure! I think I found my new...
