UGH.. We rate our Server a 5-Star as she Tried her very best. However, our Wedge Salads (which were huge & delicious) arrived along with our main entrees & our Server saw our reaction to this unexpected “rush” & offered to take entrees back to “keep warm” until we finished our salads. (We needed steak knives to cut thru the wedges, (as other restaurants automatically provide) but were only given dull butter knives.) We felt extremely rushed & thus, could not enjoy the salads & were then given small cardboard take-out? boxes to pack up the salads to go, as our companions were almost finished eating their Fish & Chips, which were greasy & dry, they said. The salads were “dumped” into these small boxes with fold-down covers & were not edible when we opened them at home. Our Server said that they “..can’t get proper take-out dishes..” (Why not?? Other restaurants can!!). Our entrees were then returned to us & the Grouper sandwich was dripping greasy oil & smelled & tasted fishy.. The coffee was served to me ice cold; not even lukewarm; & was muddy looking.. Upon my request for hot, fresh coffee, our Server then returned with hot coffee, but it was so strong that I needed 5 sugars & had to ask for more cream, but still could not drink it. The “Happy Hour Margaritas”cost $9.30 each & tasted watered-down & how was this a bargain?? We all agreed that the only edible item(s) in our 4 meals were the French Fries. We could not enjoy our salads because of the “rush” to serve them simultaneously with the meal. The Menu items are much too pricey for the quality provided. There are many restaurants in The Villages to choose from that highly surpass this restaurant & it doesn’t seem that this restaurant is going to last much longer. Management here needs to be...
Read moreIf you are thinking of dining here in the evening, consider our experience last night before you decide. We arrived at 7:30 pm, with their stated closing at 8 pm. The waitress was annoyed at our arrival and abrupt in taking our orders. She asked for the entree orders shortly after we got our drinks. One of our group ordered the Breaded Pork Schnitzel. It arrived with two sides: a flat puddle that looked like runny grits, but was mashed potatoes, and a dark glob of what was supposed to be the vegetable. I ordered the Mile HIgh Club. It was supposed to be "piled high with turkey, ham, swiss and american cheese, and bacon, on Texas toast." It was one thin slice of each on untoasted thick, slightly stale bread. One of our group ordered the wedge salad and, because he has Parkinsons, spilled a few pieces of lettuce on the floor, which the waitress scolded him for in front of our group. She asked if we were having dessert before we had finished our entrees. Twice tried to take away my plate while I was still eating. "Are you finished sir?" The third time I gave up and let her take it. The staff piled up chairs on the tables surrounding us while we ate. Luckily, we were out by the 8 pm closing time, or it might have been worse. It was so offensive that we ended up laughing about it, like it was a Saturday Night Live skit of dinner at a skanky,...
Read moreUpdateJan 29, 2025 If you read my prior review. Not much has changed. My fish batter was wet and mealy. That's even after sending it back and getting a second one. Both were the same way even after advising the chef of the issue. The server did the best she could to get me a good meal and was perfessonal and polite. She is an assett to the company. She said she would have the manager speak to me. He was standing in the front but never addressed my concerns. The fish itself is good. The batter was mushy on the inside. I would think he might have a little concern, as I can't be the only customer who has had this issue. The fried cheese appetizer was good. The house salad was very good. My wife had a taco salad, and she said it was very good. This will be my last time visiting this establishment.
First post My wife and I went by mid afternoon. We liked it better than dinnertime as it wasn't as noisy. Our server, Hiedi B, was very professional and polite. I had the fried haddock with fries and cole slaw. The fish had a good flavor, but the batter was a little greasy. This is the second time it has been cooked like that. The Cole Slaw was good, but the bottom of the container was runny. My wife has a taco salad, and she said it was very good. Overall, the meal was pretty good. As much as I like haddock, I am going to try one of their...
