I came in after 2-3 pm not many cupcakes were in the show case and the one that were weren’t labeled. I was looking in the case and when I asked she pointed moved the sign to tell me the flavors were right there. I asked something else and again was holding the sign for me to read. I had no idea what exactly everything was. How was I supposed to know exactly what was sugar free or flavor? It’s a bakery! We choose based on what looks good and the lady didn’t really bother to explain what she had even though I was clearly curious. She just wasn’t friendly or helpful. So much for southern hospitality! I asked if she had macrons and she said they wouldn’t be ready for a few more hours. It was late afternoon! It’s a bakery! Not sure why menu items wouldn’t be ready by that time. The chocolate peanut butter wasn’t the best icing tasted like a big scoop of peanut butter but not really butter cream. But the bread was tasty and moist and the sampler was pretty good too. But based on the service they could do better. Even though when I walked in I told her I drove really far to come here and I had been meaning to check them out. That’s still the service I got. I feel that customer service goes a long way regardless of your product and this shop lacked that in my experience. Not sure if I’ll come back. They clearly didn’t care for my business.
Edit: thank you for the response! Makes sense about the peanut butter but since no one gave me details of the items when I came in I didn’t know what to expect other than the names I read off the menu. I am not sure how many owners/co owners there are for your business but it was the person who promotes on the Facebook page. Thanks again for responding. It’s great when an establishment can recognize their...
Read moreI went in for the first time last night to pick up two ToGoodToGo boxes with an addition of $10 of items handpicked by me so I could give the place a fair review, it’s almost an hour drive.
My expectations were blown out of the water, everything is set up gorgeous, the shop looks like a little sanctuary and feels like one too, very homey and beautifully decorated.
The very sweet girl behind the counter was beyond excited to help me out, explain things, etc. The treats were absolutely freaking next level it’s ridiculous, I ate an entire box on the way home without even realizing it and telling my friend who I was on the phone with how great they were, absolutely drool worthy.
I don’t know what those little treats are with the orange and raspberry on top, but it reminded me of Brazil and I haven’t been home in years, thank you for the happy tearful car ride. (My favorite!)
My second favorite of my entire box was a tiny sample slice of the bread pudding, the best bread pudding I’ve had in my entire life and I haven’t a weird hobby of going around and finding the best one, I’ve been on the hunt for 5 years, this is the bread pudding!
The banana pudding cupcake was next level and was bought with the thought of the owner making my kiddos birthday cake next month, my family who shared the rest of the last ToGoodToGoBox have all agreed she’ll be making all our cakes. It was like literal butter when you bit into it, perfectly moist, full of flavor, soft, top tier cupcake!
Thank y’all for the kindness and the amazing treats, please let the girls behind the counter know they...
Read moreMy friends and I took a spooky cake decorating class. Courtney and her team were funny, friendly, and helpful. I was struggling with the piping and they were really nice. My only complaints are how cramped it was and that the cake options weren't Halloweeny and it was advertised as a spooky cake class. The space was so crowded. This class was done at Place at Tyler and we were sitting 8 to a table that really should've been for 4 people, maybe 6 people max. I think they sold too many tickets for such a small area. No elbow room to work. We were really on top of each other. For a spooky cake class at $65 per person, the cake options looked more Valentines. We had red, pink, and white sprinkles and cherries. It would've been better to do orange, white, and black sprinkles. Some short of ghost sprinkles, eyes, or a spider option would've added to the spooky aspect. Overall, it was really decorating a heart shaped cake in October. I personally would not do this class again. I'd consider it at for a Galentines Day activitiy if it was at a different venue. But the little cakes she made were...
