Bad drinks, colder service — save yourself the trip.
TLDR: Cold service + bad drinks = never again Asked for a hot chocolate “less sweet.” Came out syrupy. Barista lectured me about what’s in hot chocolate, then said they’d only remake it if I paid again. Tried a Chagachino — just as sweet. Returned both drinks, refunded for one. No apology, no warmth, and a fake “Have a nice day!” Go to Trailhead in Davis instead.
Long version: I was excited to try TipTop Coffee but left feeling unwelcome and disappointed. I ordered a hot chocolate and asked for it to be less sweet. It came out very sweet. When I mentioned this, the barista explained what’s in hot chocolate “that makes it sweet” — as though I wasn’t aware — and said they’d only remake it if I paid for another drink. I instead ordered a Chagachino, which was also extremely sweet.
When I raised it again, there was no apology or empathy — just an offer to remake it. By then, I’d had enough and asked for a refund, returning both drinks. I left without anything to drink, yet the staff showed zero concern that a paying customer’s entire experience was negative.
Coffee shops are supposed to be warm, welcoming spaces, but this felt cold and transactional. The strangest part was being told “Have a nice day!” on my way out, as if nothing had happened. If I’m back in the area, I’ll be visiting Trailhead in...
Read moreI almost missed this fabulous experience and I'm so pleased to be able to say i enjoyed myself immensely after having been told that all the restaurants in this town are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and I decided to adventure over there from the black waterfalls resort anyhow. I was greeted with such enthusiasm with only sincere intentions by two employees who are over the top great in exuding customary hospitality....Emmitt and Tanner. I applaud them both and thanked them for the recommendations. If I looked close by I would be a regular but I live in Vermont. The pastry features are out of this world. I ended up purchasing four and took them with me. I did stop and pause and spend some time outside at seating that they have arranged. The location is fabulous. The store is immaculate and styled in such a way that it exudes cheeriness. I congratulate the owners, one of which I was able to meet, on a fabulous endeavor and grand achievement in elevating the Thomas town jewel of...
Read moreLet me first say that the coffee was good. Delivery needs improvement. I went in and ordered a cappuccino and asked for it to be put in a regular cup, which there were a dozen sitting on top of the espresso machine. I was told that those are just for show And they do not have the manpower to clean cups since they were very busy and if they did that for me, they would have to do it for everyone. At the time I looked around and there were three people in the establishment working away on their laptops, not ordering coffee. I don't think it's too much of an ask to have a proper cappuccino served to me in a proper cup that is clearly visible. Bad optics. I suggest removing all of those cups, so the problem does not a rise again.
I will say that they begrudgingly gave me a second cappuccino in a cup, but I got the same story the next day and didn't feel like it was worth conversing them further. Also, they're the only game in town, so I guess they do...
