EL BURRITO EXPRESS,INC. — Restaurant in Thornton Township

Been going thier off and on for 5 years or so with freinds and family. Food was always good and hot. Knew the workers as they were regulars. Prices reasonable and place was clean. Just limited parking. Chips were always included everything you eat in.

Now after not being thier a little bit cause all this covid nonsense decided to go back. Didn't recongize any of the staff expet the lady owner. Ordered in at the counter. Now chips are $3. I said really. So sat done. Never brought my drink to me. Many people ordered food to go came and went. About 8-10 people. Most of them placed thier orders at the counter so not all were ordered in advanced. About 30 minutes later I get my sandwhich and my drink.

Food was hot and fresh.Boy was a I straving for something to drink the whole time. Chips would have been nice to munch on while the extra long wait. Do a hand full of chips and thier awesome fresh salsa cost that much ? Never waited that long for food thier. My order was just one sandwhich. With as many Mexican places to eat in the area don't think i'll ever go back. Going to try that new one in South...

Been a customer of Burrito Express since 2005, as a teenager. It's had a lot of changes throughout the years. I must say though, whatever changes they decided to make to their tortas was absolutely the wrong call.

I should've taken a picture, but I had a standard steak torta and the way it was sloppily wrapped in foil and tossed in the brown bag was so careless. It actually had a good portion of the sandwich exposed and unwrapped in the bag.

Once unwrapped, the bread looked like it was the last of scrap pieces that was mashed up and hardly toasted at all. The steak torta has literally been one of my favorite selections here for 20 years and this was by far the worst I've had.

Now, to be completely fair, I am going to make it a point to leave additional reviews in the future to call out when they do well, because we should be as loud with praise as we are criticism. First time going to this spot. Was seeing some mixed reviews so I almost went to a different spot. Very glad I stuck it out. Very good food , A+ hospitality. I was seeing some other reviews regarding the atmosphere whether the music was too loud or there were inappropriate videos. The only thing that was different is that the music and tvs were not what u expected to be playing inside a restaurant like this. Which I think is due to the younger song being in control of that.
