WARNING: This establishment is a short-order/same day catering service masquerading as a full service restaurant. They fail to differentiate between take-out orders and dine-in demand. As a result, if you show up any time after 5:00pm, there will be empty seats in the dining area and a 75-90min wait for food. You’ll hear a litany of excuses from ownership that trickle all the way down to the entry-level staff. I’m not sure if the staff is handed a binder when they’re first hired and told to memorize the excuses therein, or perhaps they just pick it up as they go, but it you’ll hear the following repeated verbatim by everyone there—including ownership:
“We’re brand new; it takes months to work out all the kinks.”
“There’s not enough friers and the kitchen is too small. We just can’t keep up with how much people love us!”
“Long wait times are just the realities of our business; you should come in earlier.”
Anyone with half a brain is going to respond back to these poor excuses with the following:
Your website says you’ve been in business since 2018. By your own admission, your other location has the same problem with long wait times, so the issues is with your business model, not that you opened up a new location. You’re in an underserved neighborhood with people desperate not to drive 20min for non-fast food restaurants, you don’t differentiate between take-out and dine-in demand, and no one forced you to rent at a location with limited kitchen space. You clearly didn’t do your homework on where you were setting up shop. Your issue isn’t capacity, it’s a failure to classify and prioritize demand types. None of this is the consumer’s fault. And none of these excuses explain rude staff, with bad attitudes and zero interpersonal and customer service skills. Some of us work for a living and can’t take 2 hours for lunch during your off hours.
Oh and one other note: if you leave anything less than a sterling review, be prepared to be angrily confronted by staff about it in front of your wife and toddler—yes, this did happen…looking at you Adam.
If there’s a struggling food truck out there, they should park their rig in the adjacent liquor store parking lot and serve all the people that can’t wait 75-90min to feed their families—they’d make an...
Read moreMy wife and I came for our first time and got 10 wings each and an order of the zucchini. She got boneless and I got bone in. The wings and sauces were honestly best I've had since I moved here coming on 5 years ago.
My 4/5 overall is because I agree with people's complaints about wait times and disorganization on take out. Our service was not SUPER slow, but still pretty slow for the lack of business. The waitress didn't seem too thrilled to be there and we saw like 3-4 flies that kept hovering over the window areas, making it difficult to focus on eating. The door was continously open from people coming in and out to check on their pick ups and I saw multiple people waiting for decent periods of time, up to 20 mins, to pick up their orders.
I think that said, I want to circle back to the food and praise the wings again. The sauces were all unique and actually tasted like their description. Bone in is the way to go, they were quality size. Boneless were very tiny and not worth it. I do think they could be hotter (I got Korean Heat and Honey Buffalo, my wife got Sweet Chili Lime and Carolina BBQ), but next time I'll try the Mango Habanero and Inferno. I think I'll pass on the zucchini, it was thick cuts that didn't give the feel of a fried plank since it was more of a rod. We tried a sample of their signature Bootleg Blueberry and it's okay, I think it would honestly be so good as a dipping sauce for something like their bacon wrapped...
Read moreUpon my visit to Outlaw Wings, I arrived with high expectations, given the buzz around their renowned wings and fries. Unfortunately, my experience didn't live up to the anticipation. Despite visiting during a busy period, which I fully expected to translate to a longer wait time for freshly prepared food, the outcome was disappointingly subpar. The wait time, while reasonable given the crowd, culminated in receiving my order in a less-than-ideal state. The wings, which I specifically requested to be extra crispy with an additional helping of sauce, fell remarkably short of my request. They arrived lukewarm, lacking in the promised extra crispiness and the additional sauce that I was looking forward to.Similarly, the fries, which should have been a delightful accompaniment to the wings, were a letdown. Served cold and hard, they deviated significantly from the freshly cooked, warm, and crispy expectation that typically accompanies such a dish. The disconnect between the wait time, which I had hoped indicated careful preparation, and the quality of the food served was palpable. In sum, while I understand that peak times can challenge any kitchen's ability to deliver its best work, the disparity between what was promised and what was delivered was too great to overlook. Outlaw Wings may have the potential for greatness, but based on this visit, there's a considerable gap that needs bridging...
