I have been to the old Throttledown Bar Since I was in college 8-10 years ago and after the game last Saturday my dad and I stopped there again, knowing it has a different name and owner now. 30 min go by, no one spoke to us. When a server finally came to our table, the bar was at 1/3 capacity and they informed us they were 1 hour out on food time.. So we came to Bryant's and this will now be our go to stop! Food was very good "bar food", but it was the service starting with both females that were serving at that time of night. Both said hello to us before we could even seat ourselves. They both worked as a team, were on top of refilling drinks before they were empty and making sure our meal met our standards. Read moreFood is always good with sandwich rolls, burgers and specials. No disappointments there. They never seem to have coffee, not sure why. It's there, but not made. Only iced tea, no hot tea. It's a quiet, cozy atmosphere with usually good service. They do have have a decent bar. Would gladly give 5 stars if service was more attentive (too long a wait for the bill on a slow day), and if they would add some simple touches expected at a mid-range, diner/grill type of restaurant. If you pay cash, there's no convenience fee. I would have liked to known this before we ate. I feel like that's holding me hostage. Having to pee Duffy for using a debit card.
