Wanted to try something new in the area so came in to this place looking forward to it after reading reviews. Unfortunately several things left us a bit disappointed. We hope the owners read this and understand we truly hope the best for them, and respectfully offer our opinion and suggestions.
To begin, we waited several minutes to be greeted and seated at a table. Perhaps a notification sound when someone enters the dining area so that staff who are undoubtably busy are aware.
We waited several minutes to get our menus and get our drink orders in, which was odd because the establishment was rather empty. We feel that giving people menus right when they are seated would help. When we did receive our menus I inquired about a drink menu and was left underwhelmed by the lack of choices. A more filled out menu offering different cocktails and unique signature drinks would be nice. Some people like myself don't know what they might want until they read about it. I would like to say that as someone who doesn't drink often, I ordered something I was not familiar with and unfortunately did not enjoy, however the staff member graciously took it off the bill.
We both ordered the chicken parmesan and unfortunately, were not able to fully enjoy it, and would like to offer some suggestions to improve it. To start, cook pasta fresh, al dente, and drain properly before plating to ensure liquid isn't on the bottom of the bowl. The sauce seemed to be heavily tomato paste based, which left our stomachs hurting from the acid. We would recommend using less paste and more crushed tomatoes and adding a dash of sugar to offset the acid. Garlic bread would be a welcome accompaniment as the bread that was served was lacking in flavor.
The chicken though crunchy, was a bit over fried. We would recommend slicing a breast in half and then pounding flat. This would allow it to cook quickly while ensuring that it doesn't get overbrowned, and would save on costs as you would then get two pieces out of one breast.
We would like to add that the new owners seemed like very nice people, and we hope that their business...
Read moreI am glad this Tillamook gem has reopened and we will return. 1st the good! Atmosphere is wonderful especially if it's nice enough to sit outside. Waitstaff is great! Friendly , attentive, just all around fabulous. Prices are reasonable, food taste was good. Now sadly the bad. When we were there it was a Saturday at 1. Female cook literally rolled her eyes when we walked by. I am sure it was out of stress but next time trun away. Food took a long time, but the view was so great we didn't mind( the bottle of wine helped as well ) They blamed it on a 10 top. If a 10 top messes your kitchen up that bad there are bigger problems. The " chips " were partially raw, chowder was cold , i sent it back but still barley warm, as well as the crab melt. It would not pass food temp for inspection. There was a metal piece from a scouring pad in the " chips" mentioned to the waitress, who was very professional about taking it to the "chef" Manager promptly came to our table ,instead of just apologizing, offering some sort of something, taking off our appetizer ect made excuses of we use them to clean everything , "it happens". Next time just say sorry it's unacceptable we will pay more attention, not excuses. Hoping to have a better experience on next visit maybe on a bit slower day when kitchen staff...
Read moreThe atmosphere and setting was just beautiful. It overlooks the golf course, what a wonderful venue for a restaurant.
We were the only party in the restaurant. There were ten of us. We placed the order at 12:05. At 12:55 the waitress brought out our food. This unfortunately fails the timeliness test for acceptable service times, particularly given we were the only party there.. They must not have a warmer because half the plates came out with fries that had already gone cold. Given these were mostly chicken sandwiches food safety is an issue. Two orders were messed up (how do you forget the avocados in a BLA sandwich?)
The food presentation lacked verve, it was missing garnish and there was no color on my plate between the ciabatta sandwich and fries.
An excellent chef could spruce up this experience but that serving delay is just totally unacceptable.
I hope they will improve on these things so they can...
