I generally like Bob Evans and I generally do not review companies, but I was pretty disappointed today with this store.
Not once did anyone stop by my table and ask how my food was, which was not good, nor did anyone refill my coffee or offer to refill my coffee.
The food was amongst some of the lowest quality I have eaten at a BE. The hash browns were definitely overcooked, tasteless and dried out from waiting around on the griddle to serve them to someone. Essentially they were inedible.
I ordered eggs over medium and they were cooked hard. The country fried steak was overyly crispy and old tasting as well.
The little dab of gravy I was served seemed as though it was the scrapings of the pot and was completely congealed by the time it hit my table. All of this greatness for only $18 w/o tip.
I ate as much as I could stand and did not complain to anyone because no one asked, remember. I finally got up to leave and stood at the register for a moment when a gentleman came to accept my money seemed to be either the owner or store manager by the way he was dressed.
He didn't bother to ask me how my meal was either so I didn't offer. I decided at that point I would just write a review. I have eaten at that location before and had good food, but it is safe to say I do not plan to risk my money...
Read moreI remember why it has been so long since I have visited a Bob Evans. First Kudo's to Mikala for service, but beyond that....Waited 5 minutes to be seated. A gentleman waited longer for anyone to check him out at register. He kept being told that 'someone would be right with him'. He was quite elderly and you could see he was struggling to remain standing. Staff was quite sufficient for time of day and number of tables that had patrons seated. They all claimed to be SO BUSY, yet time was not used wisely. For instance, jobs could have been better delegated for efficiency and less stress on customers and staff. My husband and I ordered a breakfast platter, essentially the same with variation of meat and egg preparation. The meat, eggs, and potatoes were all in the tepid/cold temperature range, so we asked that the meal be heated. We were offered a fresh plate or a reheat, although neither of us answered. The meals returned and were within an acceptable temperature range, however, if you take eggs and reheat them in a microwave, they no longer maintain the "over easy" / "over medium" preparation. I guess that is always the gamble with eggs... Prices have increased at least 30 % since my last visit to a Bob Evans and are always increasing, while food quality and pride in your...
Read moreMy 91 year old mother and I went for a late breakfast. The wait time was minimal. The hostess was courteous and the waitress was very attentive. We arrived right before the lunch crowd. Everything was good; food, service, friendly staff. Then I went up to pay the bill. I was second in line with two people behind me. There was no one to ring customers at the register, 3-4 minutes the man in front of me had been waiting.the staff could not get to the register, clearly busy. Then a man with a blue shirt, I can only assume a manager, poked his head out just to see what was going on. He was on a phone call. I was glad whoever saw him from the wait staff said, can you get the register. He came to the register put his phone on the counter a bit perturbed and waited on the first customer. No was everything to your satisfaction or really even an expression of appreciation. That man walked away I stepped up and not one word was spoken. I did not even wait for my receipt. I did not watch any of the other customers. I was so irritated that this person had 0 a big fat 0 on the customer service scale. I have been in customer service for 40+ years and this was just disrespectful, not one of the wait staff had this disrespect toward patrons. I’m glad they don’t...
