I ordered the surf and turf special which i was told included a 6 Oz sirloin steak, fresh deep fried shrimp and 2 sides. The steak I ordered medium rare with mashed potatoes and baked beans as the 2 sides. My steak was not only cold and soggy but was cooked to a well done consistency. The shrimp was also cold and nothing but a ball of mush on the inside. The mashed potatoes were very obviously instant potatoes that had been sitting under a heat source of some sort and the beans were a little dish of mush with cold bacon chunks in it. When the waitress asked how everything was I told her it was not good and explained why, she then proceeded to ignore what I said without a response and walked away. The personnal pizza my son ordered was not brought out till about 15 mins after everyone else's food with no reason as to why. I have not been this disappointed not only in the kitchen but also the service of a restaurant in many years. Not to mention either the waitress did not tell the manager about the issues or she just could not be bothered to address the situation. That being said the look and feel of the building had quite a homey feeling and clean minus the flies that continued to circle the tables. However due to the food, service, and mismanagement I will never eat at this establishment again and I will also be sure to share my experience with anyone who informs me that they plan to dine there. I can't stress enough how disappointed my entire family was with our experience in...
Read moreThese guys deserve a review. The Blue Canoe was closed for renovations so we stopped in for lunch at Sams instead. Although the menu is not huge, they seemed to have a decent selection, and the menu from adjacent Fox's pizza den was also available. I dunno how the whole menu goes, but the steak tips were great, cooked perfectly medium, homemade onion rings, good portion, fast service, not too pricey. Our waitress was nice too, took the extra time to check for some food allergies my girlfriend has and made sure they didn't cook with them. Overall it is a simple country cooking mixed with a diner kind of place. Its comfy too with oak moulding all over. Id probably stop there again, especially considering all there is in Titusville are pizza/sub shops. They should consider changing the sign outside -- it makes the place look like sketchy/dirty from the road. There is also a lobster on the sign (I didn't see any lobsters on...
Read moreWe spent the night in TItusville, PA and happened upon Sam's for dinner. What a delight. It's not a large place and it appears to be popular with the locals. Though we got a seat, on a Monday evening at 6pm it was pretty full. The meal was great. I had pork chops and my wife had meat loaf. Everything was delicious and our server (Becca) was gracious and helpful without being at all over bearing. We stayed for dessert (chocolate peanut butter pie for my wife and apple pie for me) both of which were also delicious. The prices were very...
