This place has been on my radar for a while. Trusting the good reviews, I took my family for lunch on a Saturday. As it is touted as fine dining, I expected it would be on the pricey side. What I didn't expect was how unsatisfactory the experience would be. It actually shocked me. We had a meatballs app ($16), skirt steak ($31), snapper ($30) and salmon ($22). Every single item could be rated in a range between average and poor. My father joked that the only good thing of his meal was the Coke he drank. Not that there were many options. The thirst quenchers were oddly limited for a bodega. Wine by the glass? Only three options. Still or sparkling water? Only one brand! The service wasn't good either, ranging from lukewarm to indifferent (and we were the only customers). When my father, quite jovially, told the waitress his white rice was burnt, she ignored the comment and went on to ask if we would have dessert. For us, this wasn't a fine dining experience in any way,...
Read moreThis place saved the day! After 6 nights in the San Juan area and eating at many well known restaurants I was about to give up, but fortunately I found this place off the beaten path and I finally was able to get a meal I felt happy about. After paying high prices for very average food the last few days, I found superb food for a reasonable price. They even had some of my favorite Belgian beers which is not very common in this hemisphere. My daughter had the Shrimp Mac & Cheese and I ordered the short ribs dish with risotto but they didn’t have short ribs so they offered ossobuco which was amazing. We came a little early and on a rainy Tuesday, so there were not many people there, but it seems the place has a good atmosphere and the walls are full of varied liquor bottles. I would not hesitate to visit this place again if I’m in the...
