I grew up in Levittown, and this place was like 4 minutes away from my house. I grew up eating their pan sobao, which is one of my favorites. Now that I live in the States, I barely get to eat it anymore. So for a party I am having I decided to use their online ordering system to get some bread, quesitos and pastelillitos de guayaba. The order was $100, of which $40 was just shipping. I figured it was worth a it, plus I would be supporting a local business in my hometown. I ordered on a Wednesday and on Monday I called because I wanted to know if they had read my note saying that I wanted them either on Thursday or Friday of the week of the party (party is Saturday), so that they would be fresh. Well, it seems like the note section is just a waste of space, because they just prepare the order as soon as they receive it. So I got the products 4 days before the party, which means they have been prepared for at least a week before the party, which sucks because you don't know how fresh these things are. On top of that, I talked to 3 different people when I called, all of which were rude, no sense of customer service, or how to answer a phone with a customer on the other line.
Anyways, I got the stuff Wednesday, and these products came with absolutely no bubble wrap. The boxes didn't even say FRAGILE on the outside. Who in their right mind would send "pastelillos de guayaba" in a box without bubble wrap? Why did I even pay $40 worth of shipping for? Needless to say the pastelillos de guayaba were completely broken when they arrived. It looked like a hot mess. The quesitos also looked bad, but at least they were still whole. Unfortunately, they barely had any cheese inside.
The only thing they did good was that everything on my order was sent, and the pan sobao was squished, but not too bad.
For their sake, I hope they get better at customer service, and at sending stuff in the mail. Pretty...
Read moreMy family has been buying bread and sweets from here for over 40 years. Their unique bread is delicious if you buy it in the morning. If you buy it in the afternoon, they're selling a different bread that is not their original recipe. Shame on you. You think we didn't notice. Also, I think with all of the clients they see, they should have come up with a "take-a-number" system instead of having people stand in line outside in the hot sun like a bunch of cows. They had plenty of empty seats inside where people could wait their turn. They can maybe hire some more employees to handle the amount of clients that come in daily. Especially on the weekends. The two employees taking orders are so overwhelmed trying to keep up, the service is suffering. There is one person cooking. This was on Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend at 1pm. In addition, access to the front door is impossible for handicapped clients. I suffered an injury and could not stand in line outside and when I asked for help carrying a large cake to my car, I was ignored. A client helped me because I was using a cane and couldn't carry the cake nor get to my car. And lastly, I needed a small birthday cake and all they had was a large fruit-filled cake that was delicious, but impossible to carry by myself. Unfortunately, the cake had a large piece of plastic in it. I called them and no response. I messaged them on Facebook and also no response. I've attached pictures that I sent to them here. I really didn't want to expose them, because I have very nice memories of my dad bringing us warm bread and donuts on Sunday mornings, but I'm very disappointed. Gone are the days of delicious sweet bread from Lemy. I can buy the same thing at the local...
Read moreI give reviews after at-least 2 visits because one bad experience might be a misfortune but more than once then there’s something wrong. Since moving to Levittown Ive been waiting to visit and I am very disappointed. Went with my husband to eat some sandwiches and aside from overpriced they weren't at all worth it. My husband had to take back his sandwich because it had ingredients he is INTOLERANT to and it was specified. He had to mention to the employee to please remake it because they where just taking the ingredients off without gloves. When they remade it STILL had the wrong ingredients. People who where far behind us in line where already eating and I tried my best to wait for him to eat as-well but we where running out of time. This was a plain toast with ham… Same happened with the second time I visited with my mother who wanted extra butter on her toast and she was given dry toast with barely any butter and she had to take it back I asked for a donut and it tasted out of date. The only good thing about Lemy is the nostalgic feeling of a place well known. Truly the definition of overrated. I don't mind paying almost 10 dollars for a sandwich I just expect to get my moneys worth not some mediocre layers of...
