Stacked Deli — Restaurant in Tobyhanna Township

So this review is a couple of weeks late... intended to post the day I stopped in...

So when I am visiting my site in the Pocono region, which has been happening a lot these past couple of months, I always see a sign for Stacked Deli. I always think to my self, Hey, I should check that out! But, in a world where there are rarely enough hours in a day, and my ability to sneak out to get lunch is few and far between, I hadn't done it (in full confession, there is a Convenience Store with geese that is closer, and that is a quick and known commodity).

Well, my schedule was such that one day I was going in late and the deli was open....so, I went in, took a look at the menu and decided to jump on a sandwich as it looked so good on paper.

Well, I talked with the owners as they prepared my sandwich, and it was evident that this business is their passion. We had a wonderful conversation and I was so happy to be giving my business to a small Mom and Pop shop.

The difference between this sandwich and a sandwich from a convenience store are night and day! Don't get me wrong... the hoagies from the land of hoagie-fest are pretty darn good. But this hoagie was through the roof!

The meat was sliced fresh as I ordered, and it was sliced super thin. The roll was cut to order and it was very fresh. The meat was piled really, really high! The veggies were fresh and cut perfectly. This was a sandwich made for a King and put others to shame. Their price was similar to the other places, but the quality was a different league!

Amazing experience here at Stacked Deli! The food was great, but the service was even better. Mike and Mary are wonderfully nice people and were able to accommodate my vegetarian diet with ease. Mike even offered to take extra precautions to avoid cross contamination for my meal which was greatly appreciated. Mary offered to chop up some pickles since they didn’t have relish my boyfriend requested for his hot dogs. Super friendly people and they made our lunch experience awesome. Everything was freshly sliced and prepared to order. Great food, great conversation, great people. Can’t wait to come back again this week before we leave...

I love WAWA and I think they are the best at what they do but if you want the best sandwich or hoagie in the area, drive a mile or so to Stacked. Fresh rolls and meats, cheeses and garnishes cut to order. This family run local business makes everything custom. Be forewarned that you should order in advance of lunch time (the previous day for large orders) or you may need to wait a bit for your sandwich to be made.
