The time has finally come. Pa Jolly's is done. Been coming here for years but the quality of the service AND the consumables has dropped below the bare minimum I am willing to accept. You would think that the business model upon which all corner soft-serve ice cream joints are based would be a pretty tried and true one, here in the futuristic world of 2025, but Pa Jolly's keeps finding new and interesting ways to screw up a seemingly fool proof operation. Apparently there must be some hurdles that are still difficult to overcome, such as getting a single-item order correct on the first try, or delivering quality pre-made ice cream that requires zero culinary ability to maintain and serve to your customers who (need I remind you) have a plethora of other local ice cream shops to choose from and for whom you should be bending over backwards to retain as repeat customers. I am no longer a member of said group. There is nothing that will make me stop in again for a sundae of disgusting, yellow vanilla that, despite being soft serve, is somehow freezer burnt (the last one I had actually made me feel physically ill by the time I got home). I don't want any more of your appalling chili dogs and the garbage you've started heaping on top where the chili used to reside. And why you insist on employing the lowest quality workers you can find is beyond me when there are plenty of able and intelligent people out there looking for jobs in customer service who I am sure would have been happy to step in and replace your dour-faced, unfriendly, and incompetent staffers. In short, you lost the game. You don't have what it takes to earn my money anymore, and anyone looking to stop by for a nice, refreshing summertime treat should jog on down to one of the MANY alternative establishments within a 5 minute drive...
Read moreThe ice cream is fair priced and good portions. But I had a terrible customer service experience. First they require a $10 minimum purchase for debit cards, which is against Visa and Mastercard regulations. I spent $25, as I was there with 4 of my kids and my wife. Then I wanted to get ice cream for my daughter at home, but they wouldn't take my card for the $4.50 purchase because it was under the $10 minimum, even though I just spent $25 10 minutes earlier. Very poor customer service! They were insistent and rude even when I explained the circumstances. ...
Read moreThis place will get a one-star rating until they employ people with better customer service skills. There was one small family sitting at the picnic tables eating their ice cream, and I was the only one else on the property and standing at the ordering window. The girl inside looked up and seen me, but did not acknowledge me nor did she lift the window and asked me for my order. So after standing there for about a minute and a half being ignored, I left. This is Toledo people, and there are many other ice cream shops to go to, so I would suggest you step up that...
