If you're looking for a dining experience you'll never forget, look no further than the Pine Tree Supper Club.
Upon entering the restaurant my Mother-in-Law approached the "please wait to be seated" sign and not greated but was told abruptly and rudely that she could "stand and wait anywhere you want but you can't wait here!" Then when we approached the bar to get a drink while we were waiting to be seated the hostess called out "I have you down, just wait for a table."
Upon being seated I witnessed the hostess also being rude to several other patrons and also being rude to the wait staff.
We waited at our table for over 20 minutes before anyone took a beverage order and our food took a lengthy amount of time to arrive, approaching an hour.
When the food arrived I had no beverage or ice water for half the meal until finally the waitress brought more water and offered additional beverages.
I was provided with a singular napkin for my salad and had to continue using the same napkin all meal long after my entree arrived. No waitress came around to offer additional support or check on our table until the meal was almost done.
The salad bar was fair at best, obviously bagged lettuce salad mix and many items were empty including cheese, bacon bits and dressing. There was a sign that stated a new clean plate was required for seconds but no one offered a plate and the salad plates snd bowls were controlled by the militant kitchen staff.
The staff all looked miserable, no one was smiling and I honestly wonder if the hostess and her son (who are the owners) are fostering a hostile, toxic work environment). I honestly felt bad for the staff.
It took forever to get the bill. We were there for 2hrs and 10 minutes and just wanted to leave. It was horrible service. Food was very good, had prime rib, broasted chicken and the Swiss mushrooms burger which...
Read moreThe food was good but the evening was made awkward by the staff. One of our party was served the wrong item (given prime rib when ribeye was ordered). Rather than waiting for a new steak to be cooked we asked for another plate and we'd all share. The waitress said she would pay for the meal out of her own pocket as management wouldn't let her do anything else. Then another waitress came over with our waitress to investigate and loudly proclaimed our waitress had made the error and would be responsible for it. When the extra plate was brought we were told we be responsible for an extra plate charge but should "...just roll with it." After that we were told we'd actually be charged for the salad bar as the potatoes had already been delivered. In the end, even though the full amount had been crossed out of the bill and replaced with the reduced salad bar amount, we were charged the full amount. At that point we didn't want to wait for and try to explain the adjustment so we paid and left.
The food we were served was very good but we also were subject to the staff being upset about being told they could not yet go home.
If this had been my restaurant I would have comped the one meal in our party and moved on, and held staffing conversations away from the customer seating area.
The decor was great, service was prompt, drinks were good, and the food was very good. The missteps and their pervasiveness, however, turned a relaxing Saturday evening into a tense, somewhat...
Read more1 hr 45 min to get our food. We had to get our own drinks and had to interrupt the bartenders and waitresses from there little 10 min huttle behind the bar. 1 of the meals- prime rib was rare- the order was for medium well. By the time we got the waitress we just didnt want it anymore we didnt want to wait. The owner at 1st seemed to want to correct it but yet wanted to argue with us and told us it was done right then asked if if we ever ran a business for 30 years and told us her age. It was unbelievable. I was ashamed of her, and all of us then just wanted our to go containers. She said her wait staff is running there buts off doing the best they can. Ha. They were gabbing and inattentivebehind the bar. We didnt get charged the 1 prime rib but got charged full price of $8.99 for the salad bar which was 1 tiny bowl of salad. I will never recommend Pine tree. Last year a young waiter ignored me when I complained my stuffed shrimp was burnt and showed him it was black. I should of never went back. Unprofessional owner and wait staff/bartender not young as to say inexperienced. I dont know the name of the...
