We came here from a recommendation from my son. He said we had to try the "Garbage Can Nachos". Wow, they sure didn't disappoint! These nachos are HUGE and will easily feed 2 people as a main coarse, or 4+ people as an appetizer. The nacho chips seem home made and were very good and durable to hold all the great toppings. The bar is nice and seats a lot of people. There is inside and outside dinning/tables available. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating. Try the Saw Mill beers on tap for some local beer. Cellular service sucks inside the bar because of all the tin they have throughout the bar. Their WiFi needs a lot of help because you cannot connect (they need to increase the amount of IP addresses in their DHCP pool - yeah, I am a IT geek). All in all, a wonderful place which we will be back!

Have heard a lot of good things about this place so we rode the sleds here, walked into a great environment after a long ride. The cheese curds were fantastic, everything on the menu sounds delicious but we were left with a lot to be desired after receiving our food. Had the prime rib which looked delicious but was given to me cold and pretty fatty, the wings were pretty basic with lack of sauce or flavor, and the brisket bowl sounded incredible but was only alright. Hope to try it again on a better day.

If you've ever been to Tomahawk, you know Outboards parking lot is always full, and for good reason - easily the best food you can find in the area! Everywhere I go, I order the Reuben, and there's only one other Reuben I've ever had that I would rank higher than this one. The coleslaw is dynamite, the cheese curds are fried to perfection with a batter that's got the perfect balance of flavor and texture, and the fries are clearly homemade. This isn't your standard bar food pulled from the freezer!

I came in flat broke and my credit cards locked up by cap one because I forgot my new password and needed wifi to fix it. Never Fear!! The Magnificent and GORGEOUS employees gave me food drink and best of all, Safe Haven!! I've NEVER been treated so humanely by anyone, let alone when I walk into a Fine establishment such as Outboards. Wearing filthy clothes, no shoes on my bloodied and blackened feet, and a wildly untamed mane of scraggly hair on my head.... If you are within 300 miles of Tomahawk Wisconsin and you FAIL to visit Outboards bar and grill, watch some FREE waterskiing gurus on the Wisconsin river while dining, followed up with a visit to the Lincoln county fallen soldiers memorial (every Lincoln county soldier from EVERY AMERICAN WAR HONORED HERE ON SOLDIERS MEMORIAL HIGHWAY AND DIRECTLY ACROSS THE RIVER AND VETS MEMORIAL BRIDGE, FROM THE OUTSTANDING "OUTBOARDS BAR AND GRILL) IF YOU FAIL TO VISIT YOU SHOULD LEAVE WISCONSIN IN UTTER SHAME AND HUMILIATION. I SPEAK TRUTHFULLY AND FROM THE DEPTHS OF MY SOUL. I LOVE THESE PEOPLE AND I DON'T KNOW ANY OF THEIR NAMES. YOUR KIDS/GRANDKIDS, DESERVE A FAMILY WHO WILL GO OUT OF THE WAY TO HONOR HEROES, BOTH FALLEN AND THOSE LIVING AND DOING GREAT THINGS WITHIN OUR FREE MARKET ECONOMY. GO TO HERE. ITS A SPIRITUAL EXODUS WHICH FREE AMERICANS OWE THE FALLEN HEROES WHO KEEP US FREE FOR NOW...... I LOVE AMERICA! I LOVE YOU THE READER BUT MOSTLY......YOU GUESSED IT. I ADORE THE PROPRIETORS AND STAFF HERE!!! DONT BE CHOPPED LIVER, TAKE THE FAMILY TO THE WISCONSIN RIVER!! PEACE LOVE AND FUEL FREE KAYAKING. PS OUR WATERS ARE SALT FREE AND SHARK FREE. GIANT TOOTHY MUSKELLUNGES SWIM HERE BUT THEY WANT NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH HUMANS, THEY ARE NEARLY...

My husband and I have been coming to the area off/on for years. We have been coming to Tomahawk for work related purposes.. We have never tried the Outboards Bar and Grill prior and decided to go tonight. Parking could definitely be better and more proficient. especially given that it was busy and not a big area for vehicles. We walked in and there were some arcade games, wrap around bar, tv's hanging everywhere, and then made our way to a table. We didn't have to wait long before the waitress came. Atmosphere was relaxing to be in, even though it was very busy. Hockey was playing on the tv's. Decorations were a great feature. Think Sports bar.. Waitress and staff were friendly. We ordered the garbage can nachos and much to my surprise, whew! Huge!! I was shocked about how much you were given! It could've fed 3 people, if not 4... My husband and ordered it as an appetizer! Haha My husband ordered the brisket burger with parmesan fries and I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich with regular fries. Fries are cut very thin.. But, the food was spectacular and the food portions, across the board, were extremely abounding!! Prices are fair. Personally, I think that with the amount of food given, I am surprised costs weren't higher. We paid $40 approximately for all 3 meals. My husband and I will definitely go back again when in the area and I highly recommend giving them a try!! Trust me!! You'll thank...

I was really excited about trying the food here based on other reviews and photos I had seen here. I took myself, my Mom and my Dad here last Sunday. The waitress was very nice as well as the bartender, but the food left everything to be desired.

My Mom ordered the fried chicken that was on special but found it to have an off pudding taste to it and was unable to eat it. (They did take it off the bill).

My Dad order the chicken dumplings soup and found that it lacked all flavor and only contained on small dumpling. He also had the breakfast burger with Fries and found it to be very bland.

I had the bacon Mac N cheese which was actually pretty good. Unfortunately the brisket I had added to it was terrible, just a shredded mess of BBQ soaked beef that looked like it was 5 days old and tasted about the same.

I also had the Parmesan fries that were unfortunately delivered to the table cold and just appeared to have some Parmesan cheese dusted over them. They might have been good if they were hot and maybe had enough oil left on them so the cheese would stick, but that was not the case.

Overall the food experience dragged what otherwise might have been a fun time, down down down and we left disappointed to say the least.

I hope anyone reading this who chooses to go there has a better experience than us is all I can say...
