Great Wall — Restaurant in Toms River

We ordered from here recently and it was awful. I will never make that mistake again! I don’t even know where to start! They messed up our delivery order and then wanted me to drive there to pick up what they forgot. We threw out most of the food when normally we would save it all for lunch for the next day. That’s how bad it was. What a flagrant waste of money. The dumplings were terrible. They were so dry they were all stuck together so really it was just one giant dumpling. They were also see through?? They don’t give you any sauce for them either (at least they didn’t for us) The pork fried rice was awful. How do you even mess up pork fried rice?!?!?! The rice itself didn’t taste bad, but it was all clumped together for some reason. Just from the look of it I ate a few bites and just couldn’t eat anymore. My wife got Chow Fun (not sure about the spelling) and couldn’t even eat it. She said it tasted weird. The only thing that seemed to be OK was the wanton soup. My kids liked it, but then again they like Chef Boyardee and Lunchables, so what do they know?

I bought into some of the reviews and my own kid's personal recommendation, however, I have to say I was not as impressed and asked my kid for a DNA test. No child of mine should have given this verbally 5 stars. Honestly the pork fried rice was good as was the sweet and sour chicken made the cut too, however the chicken and broccoli was virtually flavorless, the mongolian beef was ordinary at best. Maybe it was an off day? I won't make a snap judgement based on one pickup visit. I'll try it again to see if anything changes for the better. For now though, this place earns an average rating. If you love it keep going. If you've never tried it, give it a shot, I'd like to know what others think of those...

I usually don't leave negative reviews. But the food we got from this place was bad. Everything was basically tasteless.

The General Tso's chicken was full of fatty bits and tasted like salt and frying oil.

The egg rolls were so soggy with oil that their wrappers we're becoming transparent. They didn't even smell good and were a weird red color, like Kool aid got spilled in them.

The fried rice had no taste at all. It was overcooked and sorta mushy.

The Dim Sum had a really bad texture, like they came out of a freezer.

It was clear that there was very little care put into the preparation of the food we were served.
