Manhattan Bagel — Restaurant in Toms River

5/12/24 Another HORRIBLE experience in store. The manager is beyond USELESS and non professional. This is not the first bad review, second or even third time going back to give them another chance at this location. You can tell that the business does not care about or look into reviews or even care much about customers in that matter. Any other business, the manager would have been replaced by now with the amount of complaints against him. The girls at the front are also very immature, liars, and they make the customers tend for themselves and fight w one another because the front staff can NOT do their job correctly, even with only having 3 customers at the register at the time of the incident (myself being 2 of the 3). When I addressed this with the manager, the managers response, "it's best for the customers to say something to another customer because they'll take it more seriously than from our staff". WHY can't the staff say something as simple as to tell the other person that had walked up to the counter, was taking money out of her purse to hand to the cashier, and all while she was standing directly next to my child while she was placing her order. WHY should the customer need to say that?! USELESS And NON PROFESSIONAL. The girls at the front were also giving not so nice facial expressions. They kept denying it saying that's the way they look. They kept saying things behind the counter to everyone and I told them to stop talking about it as I was hearing everything they were talking about, while I was complaining to the manager only 8 ft away. This started when I asked for one of their names, so I can address her by her name and also so I could post a review about the experience with her. When I asked the manager for his first name and the staff members first name, now in order to file a legal health and safety complaint about this experience, and past experiences, which I informed him of the purpose, he had said to me "I am NOT INTERESTED in giving names". As a customer, I have the right to know for this purpose.

First review was posted 7 months ago, about the manager as well. That time was about the food health and safety. I posted pictures of what looked like plastic toy food. The manager was basically the same way but with a different situation. Even with the pictures as proof, he didn't care. I received a reply that it was being looked into but it never was. So I just deleted the first review to post this...

Nestled in the parking nightmare that is this location you’ll find a subpar assortment of establishments and among them, this dreary bagel factory. Automaton staff members will serve you what you selected and you will leave satisfied that a transaction occurred, but substantively speaking, are you? Maybe, maybe not. The bagels you ordered may be different than those in the bag you carried out. They may have put an everything bagel against a plain passing its essence along with it. The cream cheese or other spread you selected will likely only be on one half of the bagel which means you have work to do when you get home. The coffee bar isn’t refilled often enough so you may not get the coffee you want or you may have to wait for it. So as the name implies you’ll get a Manhattan treatment here, expensive and not quite what you hoped it would be. Thankfully there are a few other options...

The store is clean. And everything is well stocked and up kept. With that said. I believe it is a few family members that run it other than the main gentleman. Usually I love family dynamics running a business. However I see arguing. And back talk to the mother. And just an all around sluggish teenager vibe when in the store other than the mother she is a hard worker but disrespected and over stressed for having to seemingly make up for what the kids lack. Masks are only warn when owner is there to tell them too. And I'm continuously watching for hair in my food when it is not the owner cooking. Due to the young gentleman's linger gressey hair with no hat or net. I still give 3 stars though BC I believe it is a hiring...
