Mexicali — Restaurant in Topeka

This was really good! Ordered on a whim, and I wasn't disappointed. I got the steak and chorizo street tacos and they are legit! It only took 10 years to find authentic, homemade tacos, but this place has it!

The tortillas were traditionally made, the steak and chorizo was juicy and flavorful, and the toppings stuck to simplicity with onion and cilantro. Squirt a little lime juice on top and I was back in Mexico.

If I had to nit-pick about one thing, it would be the sides. I enjoyed the Mexican rice, as this was fresh and not dried out, but I'm not really keen on refried beans. I wish there were options for sides. All of it still really good though!

Authentic Mexican food. The birria tacos and fries are my favorites but I've also not been disappointed in anything else I have eaten from here. I love the atmosphere within the restaurant itself kinda reminds me of a place I once called home. I really enjoy the Tejano music thats being played this also reminds me of the old neighborhood. I wish I would have taken pictures the Birria fries have a perfect Meat, cheese and Fry ratio. The Tacos with the consume is just amazing. Chips and salsa well where do I begin.... salsa was basically tomato water with very few spices I've had green bell peppers with more flavor than that. The meat had no seasoning to it in my burrito nor had any seasoning in the tacos. The taco shells however had great flavor and was freshly made or atleast freshly warmed up for being corn shells. Sadly even living as close as I do I'm unlikely to visit again. Value vs...
