October 20, 2023 - Living in the area, my wife & I try all the restaurants in a 30 mile radius. . . Siam Thai Kitchen opened 3 months ago ( in the former Urban Element Restaurant location).
The rumors were mostly positive about Siam Thai Kitchen ! We met friends for dinner, and the place was packed! They have patio seating, best wait for summer time, it was in the 50’s last night, and my wife said, “ INSIDE “! Several folks met us at the door, with their “ carry out” boxes! That’s a good sign! Also folks were standing, and waiting for a table . . . another good sign!
The menu offers 6 pages of Thai, Laotian, and Vietnamese fusion food. The Curry sauces are gluten free, and include yellow, green, and red varieties! We ordered up crispy fried rolls as an appetizer! Also tried several Maine Beers. . . I liked the Orono Brewing Company’s Mason Marsh Octoberfest beer! The ladies preferred the Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon red wines!
The service was prompt ( actually the chef’s brother) at our table! I forgot his name, but a very friendly & helpful server when describing the Thai dishes to us! My wife ordered the spicy fish with vegetables, I ordered the crispy duck w/vegetables at a heat rating 🌶️ 🌶️. I like some heat and usually order “3 heat level” , but the rumors said go lower! ( perfect heat for me).
Overall, all four us us enjoyed the evening experience! Pace of the wait was fine! The food quantity & presentation was EXCELLENT! The service was also very good! Thank you to the chef , owner, and staff . . . We will return !
PS Thailand was called SIAM , years ago.

Read moreI went for lunch here on a Monday afternoon. It was my first visit here. While I was waiting, I ordered a taro boba tea. Upon first sipping the tea, it tasted good, but it had the weirdest aftertaste! I apologized and asked for a different flavor, coconut. Again, it tasted good at first, but had a weird medicinal/cleaning fluid flavored aftertaste, but I didn't ask for another one. I had the drunken noodle lunch with salad. Portion sizes were pretty good for lunch, at $12. The salad looked decent and tasted just okay. It had a fried dumpling on top, that was cold and hard. It tasted like bottled yum yum sauce on top, and it was mostly iceberg lettuce. The drunken noodle was decent and tasted pretty good, although it was much spicier than I asked for, which was level one. In my bag, there were no napkins and no silverware and no other sauces. I may visit this restaurant again, as I love Thai food, and would try something...
Read moreI’ve only ordered from this place twice, and twice they didn’t have what I wanted, and twice they waited to tell me they didn’t have what I wanted till I was there. Tonight, when i got there to tell me they didn’t have what I wanted, I asked to order something else and they said sorry kitchen closed. They should have called me. I am in the middle of a stressful move, nothing to cook with, and by the time they told me kitchen closed I had no recourse.
The food is ok but they’ve also increased heir prices to an unconscionable amount. I paid 45$ without tip for 2 little mini pints of white rice, one veggie curry and one chicken curry. Unreal.
These guys have really declined. Used to be nice, cost effective, service oriented.
I’ll never go back. Beware of you order at around 8p- insisted they confirm your order via phone.
Also, brace yourself to shell out for...
