Four of us went for a late lunch today. The person behind the counter seemed annoyed that we stepped in the place, and even more bothered that I asked about three of the pizzas that were waiting to be cut into reheated slices. Note: If you aren't a regular you almost need to know that you should study the menu before you step inside and know what you want when approaching the counter, as the guy making the pies doesn't have time for you to read the boards behind him. Three of us ordered, leaving one behind. He turned and started working on the three simple orders, pretty much reheating slices of pie. Once he came back to the counter we placed the last order, grabbed some beverages from the cooler and took a seat. I don't do well with carbonated beverages and was not happy that there wasn't bottled water as a beverage option, at least not during our visit. My friend who lives in the area and goes to this Tony's periodically noted that, when busy the other side is open, (Other side???), and a waitress will serve you. Several minutes after sitting our food was reheated and ready for us to pick up from the counter. Three of us had a slice of the cheesesteak pizza, one had regular slices. The cheesesteak pizza was tasty but SUPER greasy. The friend who ordered the regular pizza slices was not impressed. He said it was just average pie, but also said it was greasy. Parking is tricky, even at an off hour. The lot holds about six cars, and all but one was open. Convenient street parking is about space for four or five more cars before the railroad tracks. The bathroom was clean. The restaurant was clean. I believe it was $36 for our orders. I believe that's a lot for a few slices of pie and...
Read moreWhile working down the street at one of our locations, a coworker recommended this pizzeria for lunch. I had tried it last year during a visit, but that time we picked it up and ate back at the job. This time, we decided to dine in.
The restaurant is small, but it offers about 7-8 booths for seating. The menu is surprisingly large for such a cozy spot, featuring pizza by the slice, whole pizzas, sandwiches, and more. We all went with pizza slices. The slices are pre-cooked and displayed up front, and once you order, the owner (I'm assuming Tony himself) pops them back in the oven for a few minutes to heat them up fresh and hot.
One thing to note - these slices are HUGE, definitely reminiscent of New York-style pizza. I had the taco pizza, which was absolutely delicious. The chicken bacon ranch slice was solid, though not as impressive as the taco slice. A coworker tried the buffalo chicken pizza and said it was good too.
I'll definitely be back, and next time I plan to try one of their sub sandwiches. Great spot for a quick and...
Read moreI placed my order through door dash and paid for it. I ORDERED a large pizza HALF extra cheese and mushrooms, HALF plain. When I went to pick up the pizza, the owner gave me a large pepperoni pizza. I told him that wasn't what I ordered. I don't even like pepperoni!!! The owner kept waving a slip in my face that had my name on with pepperoni pizza...insisting that I ordered a pepperoni pizza. I insisted that I wouldn't order a topping on my $30 pizza that I don't like. The owner got loud with me and said "Well what am I supposed to do with this pizza???"...no "I am so sorry for this error, let me make this right." WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! I won't be back. Too many other pizza joints out there with better customer service. End story, I took the pizza home because I paid for it and "Tony" clearly wasn't going to make it right. I took off the pepperoni, the crust was ok, the sauce was salty, the cheese was average and the pizza was overall horrible due to all the grease from the...
