After waiting for 20 minutes, they called us to be seated and my husband went ahead to take the table and I took 3 extra minutes to put my dog in the car because they are not pet friendly and they did not seat my husband because the "full party had to be here", which is reasonable when it is a big party, but we were only 2 people, so when I entered we had to continue waiting. The Waiter did not introduce himself, he did not welcome us, we never knew his name and he had a terrible attitude. As for the food, it’s very interesting how they adapt Korean American food, but being a student in Food Chemistry I can tell you that the quality control is terrible and I don’t know where they get that concept of bringing meat at room temperature so that you can cook it where you can get food intoxicated with raw chicken very easily (since bacteria reproduce quickly when you leave raw meat on the table) and after cooking for 15 minutes and the chicken wasn’t cooked (and I had to try raw chicken, something extremely disgusting) another waitress told us that on the table there was a knob to turn and increase the heat which caused it to go from raw to burnt in a few minutes, something that nobody explained to us, we were about to leave everything behind and leave that place because the truth is the stress was too much since we were very hungry, in the end we decided to pay the bill which was more than $70 for two people and 2 lemonades, and we went straight to Olive Garden (Torrance) for an exquisite soup and salad and they treated us wonderfully as always. Of course we shared our story with the Olive Garden's manager (because she came up to us to ask how our food was, something that no one in Gen ever asked us) and she told us that if you are going to go to a restaurant to cook your food, why not cook at home? That is a great recommendation that I want to make to you, or go to Olive Garden.

My kids treated me here for Mothers Day. They had been before but it was my first time. The Potato Salad 😋 Oh Emm Gee. I make the best potato salad but this was ...not like mine but still super tasty. Service was amazing. I enjoyed the experience and we agreed to start going once a month. $30 / person all you can eat. They have like 20 meat choices. Or you can add $20 for the upgrade. We didn't do the upgrade. I will do the upgrade when I go by myself 🤭😆

Looooove, Loooove kbbq!! I come here every weekend, need to switch up and look for other places, but Gen is my go-to! I can not get enough of it. My only complaint is that the steak, first time getting it, it looked so rubbery and couldnt even chew it, had to cut it as small as possible to not choke, not sure what type of meat they are using but it's a Hard pass for me! They should also serve corn with cheese, i know most kbbq ive been to they have it. Ever since they started doing the premium menu with the regular menu, the beef has changed so much. The brisket is so delicate and cheap, just rips apart that everything together just looks like dog food(next time will take a picture). I came here around 8:40 on a Tuesday, supervisor or what ever he was in the front took our name down and said 10-15 minute wait. We waited 30 MINUTES!!!!!!!! WHY? Because they had already cleaned and closed down half the restaurant while there was still like 10-20 people waiting to be seated and yes, there was delays due to that, BS!! I was already expecting bad service BUT luckily someone came by introducing himself as our server BUT we actually had someone else attending us. He was the only one there being cautious making a sound when coming in and out the kitchen to not bump into other colleagues. Being end of the day, he was the only one out of all servers who was so attentive and on it his s***! Best server there is honestly, he was on top of everything, running literally everywhere and helping out, didn't miss ONE thing we asked for, he was on a roll. Shout out to Ray 👏🏻

Okay so I’m not the type of person to leave reviews because that’s a little extra especially if you’re having a bad experience but I was literally so upset with the man who claimed to be a manager at this place. Basically what happened was that I had drove over 2 hours to take my cousin out to eat here for his 22nd birthday. A nice lady at the front checkin in our party and then we waited outside for our estimated 20-min wait. No prob! After about an hour goes by and us standing outside in the cold at 9pm I finally walk inside to ask what happened to our table. When I went in they said that they had canceled our reservations because we never showed up for our table. I was so upset because I had literally been standing outside the door for an hour waiting to be seated for my party of 6, I never heard my name called and no workers even came to check outside to see if that was us (the only people standing literally right outside the door). The lady at front desk said that she texted that our table was ready and we never showed up. I showed her my phone and the only text I received was the one that said the table is being prepared. That’s completely it. So I went to speak with the manager very calm and politely about the manner. Vince told me that he sent out the texts and cancelled the table because we never showed. I explained what I said earlier in the review and he basically told me that it was not his problem and that it must be my fault for my phone carrier. Vince was incredibly rude to me and didn’t care to resolve any part of the problem or care that I had been waiting for such a long time. He handled the situation as a manager TERRIBLY and made me so upset I no longer wanted to eat there. I wasn’t asking for compensation because hey I doubt my phone was lacking service but that is always a possibility because technology is not always guaranteed. But instead of apologizing for the inconvenience he insisted that it was my fault, shrugged and said so what do you want me to do about it, it’s not my fault your phone isn’t working.

After I explained my situation I would’ve literally been so happy if he asked me where I was sitting and told me that he’d be sure to have the staff come over to sing happy birthday to my cousin at the very least. Or even just apologized. None of the staff walked outside to ask us for the name of the table. The whole situation could’ve been handled better. If I pay good money for food and leave a generous tip, I expect good service. But my waiter Brandon was LEGIT. Sooo nice, super funny, checked on my table, heard that it was my cousins birthday and got the whole restaurant to sing him happy birthday. He really made up for the bad experience. The only way id come back is if he served us again so I can personally give him...

I am Highly disappointed in the service my Family and I received at Gen. When we approached the front desk to be on the waiting list the Male host was discourteous. We gave our name and after a 45-minute wait, we were seated. We had two servers. The first one took the first order of meat and our drinks. The second server proceeded to bring a different set of meats that we had not asked for. After a 45-minute wait we were hungry and accepted the first set of plated food even though it was not what we asked for. The second server was courteous. We still asked for what we intended on eating and we got 2 more plates but still not what we had asked for. With exception of 1 drink the rest of our drinks were never delivered. After being there for now 90 minutes we received 2 briskets we ordered and 1 plates ribs. We were never given the rest of the meats and after waiting for now almost 2 hours…when we got up to speak to the manager our table was cleared. We asked him why we were receiving such slow service and he mentioned that it didn’t matter how many people we were. We would be charged. I didn’t ask him about the charge. For him to presume we were disputing the charge was downright discriminatory. I asked him will we be served the rest of the food. WE WERE NOT. He offered a two-dollar discount. I didn’t ask for a discount. After being there for so long we wanted to eat. I offered to pay for my receipt and we were charged. We were charged for 1 pitcher; 2 adult dinners and 2 children’s dinners. We received a total of 7 plates (servings) for a bill of 4 people. I asked if we could place a separate order for takeout since we hadn’t eaten much. The manager proceeded to tell us that they DO NOT DO TAKE OUT. Even though the menu in front of me CLEARLY SAID TAKE OUT. He gave me a receipt with the 2-dollar discount and walked away. I stood there without knowing who to give the receipt too. I paid for our receipt and walked away. At this point I was very upset and HANGRY: I walked away quietly.

After getting some food and nice service at a neighboring restaurant!

Now with a clear head. I called back to ask for the name of the manager from my cellphone to file a complaint using my same number: the one we used to be on the wait list. I waited for over 30 minutes and they never answered the call. I called from my husband’s phone and the call was answered in less than two minutes. This time the female host answered. I asked if they do takeout orders and she said they do! WHAT DO YOU KNOW! I was speechless. I proceeded to ask for the managers name and she refused to give us the name of the manager. Even after I explained what happened.

This has been the worst experience I have ever had. I literally paid to be...

On my first visit here I had a great experience with the food! The banchan here is great. The potato salad is crack. Great quality meat. Love the marinated pork belly, the bulgogi, and with the general Cass and Soju makes for a great dining experience. Also as far as atmosphere Gen is on the very nice end of the Kbbq atmosphere. They do a great job with ventilation. The inside is nice and lighting is great. This is where the good ends. Service sucks. A lot of the people who work here are uppity and rude for what? Kbbq servers don't need to have an attitude they literally don't have to do much in the kitchen dealing with cooks and chefs, we do all the cooking. They bring out raw meat and drinks and make tips. Not to make light of what they do, just an observation that you can't be working harder than a full service waiter. The worst run in was with one of their rude, sassy, hosts and I almost had to hurt his feelings. I have other choice words to call him, but you know we have to keep it PG so my review doesn't get removed. I was trying to make choices for macarons after dinner and for whatever reason they put random assortments together in randomly assorted plastic boxes in their display cases. No rhyme or reason, no menu, no flavor information. They aren't individually displayed and I just wanted a few not a full box. This means you have to interact with the host for macarons. This tvvink is sitting there staring at us so I lifted a few of the boxes to see if there was a box with fewer and flavors I like. He cops an attitude with me and tells me to stop touching all of his macarons. Like his little paycheck from his little after school job is worth him losing it. As if he would be in trouble for customers touching plastic boxes. Basic customer service fundamentals would have taught him to explain their process and let it be that. As if I didn't just spend his daily wages in there to eat just for him to be condescending and rude. The attitude really was unnecessary and tbh i'm sick of miserable people working in customer service. Stop it go find something else to do. Because talking to people like they're children is a quick way to be cursed out. Luckily, I was with a bunch of friends and so I did the bare minimum to not cause a scene. Oh but god I wish I was solo or only...
