John & Mary's — Restaurant in Town of Alden

John and Mary’s on Broadway In Alden NY, is very inconsistent, ordering to my house I have had countless amounts of negative experiences. Back in May, I had ordered a chicken salad, it was delivered with no chicken what’s so ever (and that is just one account.) Sense then, I haven’t placed any further orders, however today, I was feeling like I should give them yet another try. Something as small as ordering, and being charged for (extra) blue cheese, and not getting it yet again shows that they truly do not care about customer service. Seeing as again, I have given this company my money, 48 dollars to be exact, and they still fail to fulfill my order the right way, my family and I will now, never give our money to them any longer. So much for giving money to these small business during these hard times/ pandemic, they take your money, but don’t give you what you paid for. At this rate, I wish I didn’t need to give any stars...

Really excited having a John and Mary's near me when I moved to Alden. Really disappointed when I ordered and got the food! Stale, Stale. Stale tasting with everything I ordered. (I did get a pretty good tasting sub one time in a year. That was it.) Especially the hot dogs. Stale dogs and rolls fall apart they are so old. John and Mary's owners and need to train about FRESH FOOD being made for each and every customer. Sadly I do not order from there anymore. Responding to Andy. I ordered over the winter many times and I can assure you the Texas Hot Dogs were old and stale tasting and the buns stale and falling apart. Fresh buns do not fall apart. Not to mention I stood at the counter 20 mins waiting for my food that I specified a time to pick up. Was ready and sitting there while I waited and cold when I got home. Oh how the mighty have fallen! Used to LOVE this place, so I was in town and was surprised to see them still open and went in to have some, of what I remembered to be, good food. Food was ok, average at best but wow at the price holy cow.

Honestly I can't believe I paid $30 for 2 subs then they had the audacity to try to charge me $1.75 for blue cheese. Nearly $2 for a side of dressing is basically robbery.

Everyone, save your money, get a pack of Costanza's rolls and meat and for $20 you can have 6 subs which would cost you $90 at John and Mary's. John and Mary's shame on you for what you're charging people. $30 for 2 subs is insane, it will be the last time I'll ever go there, I'll have the memories tho... I'll just try to forget...
