El Ranchito 3 Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of Amherst

Update: the owner called me and made it right. We only ever had bad luck with the fish. We’ve always had great service and food before this incident.

We usually have a great experience at this restaurant and come often with our family. But tonight was a different story. My son and I both ordered the fish tacos—we eat fish all the time and love it—but these were clearly spoiled. I took one bite and immediately knew something was off. It was super fishy and just bad. My son, unfortunately, ate almost a whole taco before running to the bathroom to throw up.

I flagged down our waitress and explained what happened. I had only taken one bite and even spit it into a napkin. She offered to replace the meals, which I appreciated, and I accepted. But my son wasn’t going to eat anything else—he ended up in the car throwing up outside.

When the bill came, they still charged us for everything, including the full plate of spoiled fish that we sent back. That was pretty shocking. I get that it’s only $15 or $16, and it’s not going to break the bank, but it’s the principle. Charging someone for spoiled food that made a kid sick is terrible customer service. Food wasn’t good and it was more expensive than it’s worth. Also the customer service is horrible. I came in with my two co workers and the waiter chose to serve them and them only. Completely disregarded me and acted as if I didn’t exist. I believe it was the manager as he wasn’t wearing a uniform and was wearing a striped button up shirt. He disregarded me two times. Once by not asking me if I want something to drink but listing a long list of options for my co workers and only asking them if they want something to drink. And another time when he brought us the wrong order to the table and I told him it was the wrong order, before I could even finish my sentence and tell him what we ordered he walked away from me mid conversation and completely disregarded me as a customer and was extremely disrespectful. I addressed this with him and he tried to gaslight me like he didn’t do what he did and my co workers had to speak up and say yes you did all of that you disregarded my co worker and excluded him in your restaurant. I will never go back there. Neither will my family who loves Mexican food. This is the Clarence location on Main Street. Right across from Clarence...

Went in tried to sit us at a table that the person in the next booth pushed it so close. to the table couldn’t even fit between the table and bench and im not a fat ass asked if we could sit at a table we could actually sit at they obliged. Threw some chips and salsa at the table told us the drink menu is against the wall there we sat for 20 minutes waiting for a human being to at least take a drink order nothing waited another 10 minutes watched a couple tables get there order still no acknowledgment we must have been wearing our invisible cloak tried flagging the chip boy and lady that were chatting the entire time nothing. We got up and walked to the door chip boy said thank you have a nice night i mentioned we didn’t even eat or weren't acknowledged and continued out the door not even an apology or excuse let us walk out. Last time we will ever patronize this place, their loss. Drove down the road and went to El Palenque where we were treated like kings excellent food great service friendly staff will eat here...
