Another person who did review wrote something similar to this format. it was easier for me to read. I am doing the same thing to help other autistic people or people with disabilities to see what Checkers does good.
Checkers has been accommodating me for my autism and sensory issues to noise. This is my review to be based on. I need help with my safety and decision making by my caregiver. The situation is this is one of the only restaurants I want to go to because of the lights are not bright and the accomodations with the radio. The echo is not friendly for autistic people so bring ear muffs but I am able to take off my ear muffs when the radio is off to have a conversation with my family. The difference between Checkers and other restaurants is the lights are not dimn and not bright. Mobility isn't the best for those people who have pain. because the ramp is at the side of the building and no front door. Parking lot is no pot wholes and not slippery in winter. The parking lot and bathrooms are clean and this is how you know this is a good place to eat. The food is always hot and fresh. The food actually is filling and keeps me full unlike other fast food places. Always nice and helpful staff. The menu could be a bit larger print but they do have a paper menu to help people with disabilities.
Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 Disability Accomodations: 5/5 Sensory friendly for autistic people: 5/5
Recommended dishes
French Fries, Hamburger and Fries, Double Cheeseburger. Fries are a must buy. You will know why when you eat the fries. Never get bad fries. Ice cream is good.
Lighting is great for autistic people. The direction of the lights are why the lighting is very good. If you have sensory issues to noise, please ask for help with the radio if you need it turned off or down. I don't have to ask because they either ask or do it without asking as I have a hard time with communication. This is the best part of going to Checkers is they ask me or just do it to help me express myself. They even help bring people food if you have a disability. Not any place goes out of the way for the disabled like Checkers.

Read moreAVOID this place at all costs unless you want to be accused of stealing food! My husband and I placed an order online for pickup. When we arrived at checkers to get our food we were handed a bag that was missing two of the burgers. We informed the drive-thru worker; even going through the bag right in front of him to prove they weren't in there. The manager swore the burgers were in there and claimed we were lying. Refusing to give us the missing food that we already paid for. Even refused giving us a refund for the missing food. The poor drive thru worker was caught up in the middle of this whole thing because the manager wouldn't even speak with us directly. We never even saw him at all. The drive thru worker, who was stuck playing the messenger, felt so bad he offered to use his own personal money to pay for the burgers for us. My husband and I declined his generous offer. He shouldn't have to use his own money to make it right just because of the incompetence of the manager. We left without our burgers while they kept our money! I simply can't believe this. We are honest people who understand what a hard job being in the service industry can be. We would never steal food! But we sure got stolen from! Already contacted customer service who said it would be several days before we see any kind of resolution...
Read more3 years ago I recommended this place with 5 stars. That's sadly not the case anymore.
Purchased an online order and came to pick it up at the drive thru. We were missing both of the burgers so we informed the drive thru worker.
After a few minutes he came back and said his manager personally put the burgers in a smaller bag inside the big bag. There was no smaller bag inside our bag. Drive thru worker then took our whole meal back and looked through the entire thing to see it was indeed missing the burgers. We were asked to pull forward to wait for our missing items.
A few minutes later, drive thru worker comes out and says the manager wants us to pay for a new order for the burgers we were missing. There's no way were paying twice for food we didn't even get. So when we say no, the poor drive thru worked asked the manager again to give us the missing burgers, the manager refused and then the drive thru worker offered to pay for our food himself. We refused his offer because that shouldn't be on him. We left having paid for our food but not receiving all of it.
We will not be coming back, and I can't recommend anyone ever comes here anymore. Sad to see how terrible this business has become. They were great when they first opened the location...
