The food here is excellent and my family's been coming here since it opened with the original owner. But we've recently noticed the effects the economy has had on the small business. We were reminiscing how meals used to come with a soup or salad, and loaves of bread. This most recent visit everyone was given half a slice. When we asked for more bread before our meal with more water, the waitress gave us some attitude asking if we needed ANYTHING else, and we were each given another half slice. That was gone in 5 bites each and then no more bread was given with our meals even though entrees say they come with bread. You either get pasta or broccoli or fries with your entrees, so if you want chicken parm with pasta, then there's not really a healthy addition you can get without paying extra for a salad, so don't expect to feel well-rounded here but rather full with Italian food Italian style. I was impressed they had gluten-free pasta to offer and a variety of cakes/pies or cannoli for dessert. I recommend you arrive early as people are often waiting for them to open at 4pm and they fill up fast. Also of note, each of my utensils had dried food on it which wasn't a great impression coming in to re-experience a family tradition, but the waitress was already in a bad mood so I didn't want to ask for new ones. Portions are perfect for one meal and still have room for dessert, but don't expect leftovers- my chicken cacciatore had one chicken breast and a handful of veggies in at least an inch of sauce filled to the brim of the plate making the dish have a nice presentation of being large. This is a standard restaurant full of locals who call this "their place" and that's the experience you're paying for when...
Read moreOur office had lunch catered from this "restaurant" a little over a week ago. We had received Chicken Picata and roasted vegetables along with individual dessert pieces and pop. The chicken was under cooked yet somehow dry at the same time. It seriously lacked flavor as it seemed the kitchen staff broiled a pan of chicken breasts and sent them on their way as is. No sauce, no salt, no flavor! The vegetables left a lot to the imagination as far as taste goes. They were slimy and went perfectly with the chicken as they has absolutely no flavor to them as well. Apparently 'ol Lebro cooks from a no-sodium menu. The dessert--which was almost too small to even see, was decent but a mouse would've wanted more after finishing a piece of the cheesecake. If you decide to order from this place, make sure you enjoy bread and butter because it is the only thing there to fill you up. Not wanting to be rude and seem ungrateful for the lunch provided, most of us had to sneak out of the office to get some real food during break! After much conversation about this awful meal a few co-workers and I decided to look up the menu and see how much this disaster of a meal would cost. OUTRAGEOUS- is the only word that comes to mind. Some poor soul dropped almost 200$ on this catastrophe. I also found it hilarious that Lebro's charges 1$ PER FORK. What a mess. I have never been to the actual dining establishment, but after this horror I have decided that...
Read moreThe restaurant business is a rapidly changing industry which keeps me interested in finding the best places to eat. I am sad to say that this, I’m sure, once great Italian restaurant is failing to alter its menu and style with the industry. At the bottom of the menus there is a little strip that shows off an award from 1997. 22 years was your last award rightfully so. The service was very friendly and excellent but the meal I had was not as pleasant. The menu was so big that I had settled for a fish FRY because I could not decide between all the unappetizing options. You may be wondering why I used all caps on the word fry, it’s because when my fish arrived at my table it was breaded not battered like almost any other fish fry is. I was immediately disappointed when I saw it then I bit into it it was dry, rubbery, tasted like it had been frozen quite a few times and just tasted plain out bland and old. Don’t even get me started on how many options there were for chicken and veal one option was baked fish and they don’t tell you on the menu what kind of fish it is. The chef, manager, and owner should all go out to eat at places like olivers and jt’s urban Italian to see what an Italian restaurant should be like nowadays. The standards have clearly dropped since 1997...
