First time at this location, I live by the one in Nesconset so they've been the example upon which I set my expectations. North Babylon being open longer, I thought it'd be the same or better. I was wrong. First, there's no going inside the building as a customer. Nesconset has a half dozen or so tables and a counter with two registers inside at the front of the building, North Babylon has no service window nor counter, outside the drive-thru. What they do have is covered outdoor seating. Ordering is accomplished over intercom through one of the same menu boards as any of their drive-in stalls, placed in the middle of the patio. As to my experience this past Thursday, I ordered ahead through the app. Upon arrival, it didn't give me the option of checking-in by stall number, as it's supposed to do. Instead, I pressed the famous red button and after a little issue with the staff member not understanding me, they said I'd have to wait for a carhop. No problem except after 10 minutes, still no sign of them. I walked around the building, then drove around the building, and that's when I discovered there's no inside seating nor counter as there is in Nesconset. I parked and approached the outdoor dining area and the drive-thru employee, realizing I needed assistance, was kind enough to come to the window and call out to me. I quickly explained the app issue and that I'd already waited ten minutes without someone coming over. She directed me to the carhop entrance and said she'd get someone to help. I again explained the situation to the next employee and they confirmed they received the order in the system. It took them another 15 minutes to make my order; a cheeseburger, a corndog, and a frozen lemonade. I ordered the same and more the other night from Nesconset but, was checked-in and on my way with my order in well under ten minutes. This location was not busy, nobody on the drive-thru line and maybe six stalls had cars. Nesconset is ALWAYS busy, at least whenever I go. There's never more than four or five stalls open, usually only one or two, and always cars in the drive-thru line. I don't think I'll visit again unless I'm desperate or find myself running extra early with plenty of time to spare. This was supposed to be something fast, as I had someplace to be in Deer Park. Rather than going without eating for the night, I ordered ahead, nothing fancy or complicated, and it still took nearly a half hour. Thankfully, I was only 3 minutes late because I left extra time, just in case. I'm glad I did otherwise I would have had to leave without my order. The employees I had contact with were all polite, and the food was exactly what I ordered, it just took more time than expected for a place that wasn't busy. Though, I will acknowledge they might have been short of staff since customers can't really see into the kitchen. If that's the case, get these people some help or give those willing, extra hours. There's so many places having trouble hiring, do what you can to treat those working as best as you can. Reward their work ethic, they could be out with their friends enjoying the Summer, collecting unemployment like so many (young &...
Read moreWhen I pulled up there was a long line for the drive through, the bays had 2 cars, so I actually parked closest to the door to make it even easier & quicker for them. I pressed the button and waited patiently. I decided to turn my car off, and then noticed the car to my left that came after me was ordering (annoyed for didn't they have a clock showing the wait?) I said okay it was an oversight and looked to ensure I had pressed the button, and clearly the board stated such. They brought out the order to the car to my left and I was getting upset but as I'm from Brooklyn and Sonic shakes are a treat for when I visit the cemetery, decided to wait still. The car 2 bays over in the right I noticed was then ordering and I was here for 20 minutes now, the car to my right instead of waiting left (as they came after me, partially glad.) My girl told me maybe I needed to press the button again but clearly it said its been activated and they would be with me shortly. The light actually went off and I did have to press again and when they responded I questioned with no response, and then placed my order. I also noted when leaving the drive through was empty, so yes I did arrive when busy, but no way should at least 2 patrons that came after me have been not only able to order but also get their orders, shame on...
Read moreI am horribly disappointed at the experience I had here. Not with the food, but the staff. EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE who worked on Saturday 3/19/22 in the afternoon (around 3pm -4pm) should be FIRED. Including the Manager!! Every single person had a terrible attitude and made you feel like as a customer you were not welcomed. The app wasn't working and the Manager refused to honor the promotional discount for the slushies. The microphone in the order slot wasn't working so the employee had to come out and take the order. By the time he went back inside after 'taking' the orders, he had forgotten the order and ended up getting 2 items completely wrong. And then when told that the order they gave was incorrect, was given the WORST attitude ever. By the time they finally delivered my correct order, the ice creams that were given had melted and when I asked for New ones, they literally replaced 1 and gave the other back saying it wasnt "melted enough". Obviously these workers need to go to Chick FIL A customer service school because these group of folks are honestly the worst I've encountered. Will be staying away from this branch...
