The Food Florist goes to our local farmer’s market. We were headed out of town on vacation and due to COVID and the expense of paying for five people to eat at a restaurant each night, we decided to order a bunch of frozen meals to bring with us. I love to cook and am a tough critic having run my family’s food store for many years but I can say that these dishes are great - homemade, real ingredients, and delicious! The large casseroles take an hour and a half to cook and the smaller ones take an hour. We got blueberry French toast casserole, quiche, and bacon and egg casserole for breakfasts. We had chicken enchiladas, chicken corn casserole, chicken pot pie, spinach lasagna, and Swedish meatballs for dinners. We got a peach pie and quad berry pie for desserts. My mom used to be a baker and even she was raving about the pie crust! We will definitely be stocking up our freezer for nights when we can’t or just don’t want to cook! Highly recommend the...
Read moreI discovered the Food Florist at the Troy Farmer's Market. I had just had a gastric bypass and was returning to regular foods, just in smaller quantities. I also have to eat on a schedule, meaning no grabbing something in the morning for the drive in to work. Getting up early to cook something every day is not exactly my style, so I decided to try one of the breakfast bakes and I've eaten it virtually every day for breakfast since! I bake it on a weekend, then have breakfast for the next 12 days. I rotate between the three varieties, so I never get tired of it. I have also had both quiches, the Swedish meatballs, and the blueberry French toast bake, and all are delicious. My only problem is that I wish I had more room in my freezer so I could stock up, but going back to the Farmer's Market or to the store in Ballston Spa is not much of a hardship, so I never have to worry about running out of...
Read moreToday was my first time ordering from The Food Florist in Ballston Spa. We ordered a Cheesy Chicken Bake and a Peach Double Crust Mini Pie (totalling $15.90). Both were amazing. Real chicken, fresh peaches, homestyle cooking! Reminds me of my friends from Minnesota who make delicious comfort casseroles. This is a take and bake type of takeout. This means the food is ordered frozen and you take it home and bake it as the directions state on the oven ready containers. They also made it safe and easy to pick up with their contactless curbside pickup. I just called when I was in the front of the store and popped my trunk (I already paid on the website through PayPal). I will definitely be ordering from...
