This old spring is very unique its too bad its all boarded up now kinda reminds me of historic new Sarotoga springs. This place is at the bottom of the saratoga co. fair grounds and only a feet west of the old electric trolley that ran from ballston spa through rock city falls to the grafite mines approx 1 mile east of lake desolation. Porters corners, The old spring had a man that ust to have a small store inside the spring building when i was very young after my parents went to the big city of b spa shoping we would go through the tunnel in a 1964 ford galaxy convertible with the roof down and you could reach up and touch the cobble stone arch above then we stoped behind the spring to get a glass of water in a (pullup glass) from the glove compartment then mom would buy ice cream and speciality candy and sometimes chips. Its a shame now the building is boarded up and the tunnel looks filled with metal gates on the tunnel ends. O well this is progress just like taking down the historic GrandStand at the Saratoga county fair grounds I hate seeing this happen one day its up the next day its gone ! Now you can sit on the new shinny metal bleachers ouch!!! Im not complaining but I was born in a small Hospital in north BallStonspa that also closed years ago. This...
