Not so much a "sweets" bakery as a "savory" bakery. I tend to seek out sweet pastries, cookies, and other baked goods on Fridays to celebrate making it another week. But sourdough has never been a type of bread that inspired sweet things to come to mind, far more mild, which is good for some but not what I really want. However I like to give every bakery that opens a chance, so here we are. First off, this is not an inexpensive bakery. For the four items I got I ended up spending over $30, when I could get a full box of goodies from a couple Italian bakeries in Clifton Park for as little as $18. So do not expect to walk away from here without opening the wallet a little wider than usual. I'm not sure if this is because of the niche process of baking only sourdough treats, or how much smaller scale it is compared to some larger scale operations. Whatever the case may be, it's pricy. Secondly, as mentioned, these are very mild in terms of their sweetness. No frosting, no glazes, and even the ones with a sugar crystal topping are spiced out of their mind. The others relied upon fruits and more natural sugars to make them sweet, the sweetest of them being the babka, but even then it was still a very light sweetness. The chai spice snickerdoodle was so spicy, the apple oatmeal cookie was soft but kind of light on the apple side, and the cranberry-apricot scone was very dry and only had a single apricot on top of it. Overall, I was left unimpressed. I do consider it an accomplishment to have finally been here, since they changed their hours, it has been much more difficult to get a chance to visit after work. But Fridays are still till 5PM.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently had the pleasure of visiting Night Work Bread and I can't say enough good things about it! From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted by the warm, inviting aroma of freshly baked bread that filled the air. Outstanding Sourdough Varieties: This bakery specializes in sourdough, and they truly excel in their craft. The selection of sourdough bread they offer is nothing short of exceptional. From classic sourdough with its crisp crust and tangy crumb to creative variations like rosemary-infused or olive-studded loaves, every option is a masterpiece of flavor. Quality Ingredients: What sets this bakery apart is their commitment to using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. You can taste the difference in every bite. The use of natural starters and long fermentation processes ensures that the bread is not only delicious but also easily digestible. Friendly Staff: The staff here is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They are more than happy to explain the various types of sourdough, help you choose the perfect loaf, and even provide tips on storing and enjoying the bread at its best. Charming Atmosphere: The bakery itself has a charming, rustic ambiance. The open kitchen allows you to watch the skilled bakers at work, shaping and baking the bread right before your eyes. In conclusion, this bakery is a hidden gem that deserves every bit of praise. If you're a sourdough enthusiast or simply appreciate artisanal, handcrafted bread, do yourself a favor and pay them a visit.

A small cozy bakery. Six small tables inside, a few tables outside. The menu includes toasts and bagels. We had salmon toast, there were a lot of onions, but it's not a problem. The coffee is dark roast, unfortunately. No cappuccino or other coffee drinks. The sourdough bread is, in my opinion, the best in the area. Unfortunately, there were no cinnamon rolls, which I dreamed of. I would also like to see soup on the menu (with their bread it would be great).

WOW!!!!! My wife Denise and I ( currently living in the Binghamton area) were passing through Ballston Spa and stumbled on Night Work Bread. We got 2 breakfast bagels ( one with cream cheese and one with "lox works")... well, we ate them at the outside tables with our coffee and tea... they were so ridiculously scrumptious that we went back in and got a sandwich for lunch and a piece of their focaccia... CRAZY GOOD!! Let me just say that this is a MUST STOP whenever we are in the area... on a side note... to all my "downstate" friends from the 5 boroughs of NYC and Long Island...when you are on your trip to Saratoga and beyond... get off Interstate 87 at Ballston Spa and stop here... you wont...
