We have been to Nino's since they opened some years ago. At first, they were quite good, but after 3 disastrous meals in a row, we decided to never go back. My favorite was a simple Veal Parm. After a few years of not going, I decided to try a take out order of a Veal Parm Hero. On my first go around, they simply made Veal Parm, not on a hero. I confirmed the mistake and had to wait another 15 minutes at the bar while they fixed the mix up. After all, saying a Veal Parm HERO 4 times over the phone was not clear enough. The following week I went back for another. Excellent. A week later, yet, another (I'm a creature of habit if it's good), yet this time, the veal was skimpy and mostly scraps. Did I mention that the Veal Parm Hero is $17 dollars?? That's what it costs on their menu as a plate. But hey, OK, if you're giving me something that resembles a $12 dollar Arthur Avenue Sandwich, I'm OK with paying for quality and getting a little ripped off (that's my choice). Today, I called in for my old faithful and got the following indignant and somewhat nasty tone "We don't make Veal Parm heroes anymore!" Huh? A restaurant missing an opportunity to make a quick $17 bucks before the 7PM dinner rush? I asked to speak with an owner or manager, and I was told no. My response, OK, You've lost a customer forever! I am amazed in this economy that a restaurant would refuse a guest almost any request. So I hope they do well, because They have lost a customer forever! All of this was a prelude to bringing the family back because we used to spend well over $150 about every two weeks. This is a lesson on how to ruin your business. Congratulations you have succeeded 1...
Read moreNino's used to be a great restaurant to go to. My family would go there twice a month for dinner. Food used to be great, portions generous, and prices fair. Sadly, non of those are the case anymore. My family went to eat there the other day and it was a $250 dinner (appetizers, entrees, and desserts) for 4 people and we left hungry and disappointed. We will not be returning to the restaurant.
Portions were pathetically small. They just keep shrinking the serving size and raising the price. The veal francese, which I have gotten before and loved, was decent but not enough food with only 3 small pieces of meat... But that didn't really matter because I got sick in the middle of the night (never happens to me). I only had one meal that day and it was at the restaurant, so it was icing on the cake.
Overall, we are upset as a family to give such a bad review, but we voted to cross it...
Read moreI have no idea why there are so many stars for this place. Ordered take out and was rudely spoken to by the man who answered and took the order. I was told the wait would be 25 minutes. The order was not ready after thirty minutes and my son was told, again rudely, that it was not ready. Once he brought it home, the food was terrible. Their “organic” Gorgonzola salad did not even have a teaspoon of Gorgonzola on it. The balsamic dressing was overpowering! The crab cakes were obviously frozen and cooked in a microwave as they were not hot at all, and the clams oreganata were fishy. The ravioli, touted as house made, were also obviously frozen and the sauce was too sweet. There are so many better Italian restaurants in the area that serve much better fare. Trying to pass off as authentic does...
